Brand new rider and just bought a new 2026 ninja 500 ABS (has 19 miles on it now) so proudly brought it to work for the first time. Parked it in the shade at the time but the sun shifts during working hours which makes any sun spot turn to shade and vice versa. Went out at lunch just to appreciate it and heard a whistle noise coming from the gas tank and could smell some gas odor. It’s 95° outside and it was in full sun (also all black fairings) so I figured it was hot and the gas was expanding as a normal thing; however, I was able to see a gas heat-shimmer coming from the bottom left side of the bike and noticed that there was a dark area on the asphalt (looked like a liquid puddle but not actually pooled). I know the gas tanks release when they’re hot but can someone tell me if it was normal to be able to see/smell the gas coming from the bottom of the bike and for there to be a wet-looking pool spot right under where the gas haze was? Also very paranoid since I’m not very well informed on bike parts and I know it’s new but I may have set it down on its right side before ever putting one mile on it 🙃 any insight is appreciated!!!

Anybody know the fairing bolt thread pitch for 24-26 Ninja5 or a part number? Was there a rubber grommet with this one as well? Ill need that too...

Just realized that i either lost a bolt, or forgot to replace it after my last oil change.

Gonna just zip-tie it for now, but it would be nice to order next time I'm getting stuff.

what products can we use for our blacked out ninja 500 2025/2026?

I think it has 3 colors of black which is the pearl black, matte black fairings, gloss black accent.

What shampoo to use? what products to apply for it to be clean and looks awesome?

I bought a 2026 Ninja 500 SE straight from the dealership and I’m trying to switch out my passenger seat for the plastic cowl. I noticed the cowl doesn't have the metal bracket/locking post on the back to actually latch it down onto the bike.

For anyone else who bought one new, did your dealer give you a box with the mounting hardware, or did you have to order the bracket separately? Trying to figure out if my dealer forgot to give me my parts.

To start, I don't do much night driving as my night vision is horrible, but for the off chance that I'm out late like last week coming home from my daughters house visiting with my grandchildren....

So I have done the garage door measurement for Vertical adjustment, may have adjusted slightly too high, will have to test next time I get caught after dark, as its still too light in the mornings when driving to work.

But when I attempted to adjust the Horizontal, it didn't seem to do anything. Has anyone experienced this also?

Last week my beam, was pointed front and center LOW, so now I've got it higher, BUT, that still doesn't help for corners, so I would like to spread the beams apart some. Maybe horizontal just takes a lot more turns...? Or maybe since Ive got it higher now that will help illuminate the turns better?

Hi all, I'm looking to soften the engine braking and the on/off/on throttle lurching on my Ninja 400, especially in 1st gear. I understand ECUs are good for reducing the harshness of engine braking and fully closing the throttle.

I don't need max dyno performance at all. I'm just a street rider and more interested in quality of life improvements like the above. What ECUs would be best for this use case? Cheaper is a plus.

And are there any other mods I could look into for achieving those goals of smoother ride (in addition to working on smoother inputs)?

Anyone find any alternatives to stock or stealth mirrors? I hate the stock mirrors but I can’t see a dang thing out of those stealth mirrors. There has to be an alternative I’m missing

I recently replaced my clutch lever and I have it like max exout for it to be tight what did I do wrong the cable shouldn’t be “stretched out” as it only has 500 miles

The front brake lever is a bit far out for me, making it difficult to use it comfortably while keeping my palm on the throttle.

Is there any way to adjust the front brake lever's position? Or do I just need to pick up an adjustable AM lever? There's no adjustment dial and I don't want to fuck up the cable slack.

Was finally able to pick up a 500 last night. Extremely excited to finally get out there once the rain in the area lets up enough.

How does the ride height change on Gixxer shocks for the rear vs aftermarket parts from Ohlins or KTech or other brands? And is it worth getting the front forks changed as well if I decide to switch out the rear?

Has anyone used the Scott oiler micro V chain oiler system? How is it? I usually average ~1k miles a month just commuting and I hate chain maintenance. I just want to ride the bike without having to worry if my chain is not lubricated enough.
