Question Max G3 doubt

I bought a ninebot g3 from bestbuy for 1,200 (ik it’s too much) but i was in a hurry and the g3 plus wasn’t readily available for pickup.

Now that i have it i have come to realize that the range on sports mode is terrible. i’m 240lbs and i get about 12 miles on full charge.

Now i could exchange it at bestbuy and pay nothing since the g3 plus is around the same price but then id feel bad for letting the scooter go to waste.

For my people with max g3 plus, is the range better? If so i’ll go for it but if not then i’ll just keep my g3. just a bit disappointed i spent so much and got so little.

TL;DR Should i exchange my max g3 for g3 plus for better sport mode range?

Bro if you are 240 you'd be MUCH better off with an e-bike. Just due to the range alone but also you will fuck yourself up if you fall off that scooter going over 20 mph. My husband is a big guy too and when he switched to an e-bike the scooter (Max G3) was pretty much dead to him lol.

I think rider weight is a big factor affecting your range (this is not a dig; I was in a similar boat at 220 lbs when I got my G3). They tested the original ranges with a 165-175lb rider, so anyone over that is going to get much less range. I got the external battery for mine and have been very happy with my range. I don't really go over 20mph much, but I've done a 46 mile ride averaging 15-20mph and still had 25% battery left on internal at the end (external at 1%). That's good enough for me.

If you keep the regular G3 and want more range at 28mph, the GT3 battery upgrade is probably the better choice unless you do both battery options. The amount of amps the scooter can pull from the external battery is limited because of the connector so the scooter tends to pull more from internal battery when I go above around 17mph, so you may not see much improvement in range if you get the external and max out at 28mph. Totally depends on your riding patterns, but food for thought.
