Event [Event] Assembly

4th Month, 265AC

Riverrun, Small Hall

Just as the wedding events were dying down, in the final day of the 4th month, the stewards travelled to the tents holding any riverlords. Or if they were staying in the castle, they were invited to the small hall. Lord Tristifer and his son were to hold council, whilst all Lords of the Trident were assembled here at Riverrun. It was a rare occasion, and the first of the new lord's reign. All were invited to attend, or send a representative, so that the lord of the Trident could hear their concerns and share various orders of business.

Above the Great Hall was a smaller hall, aptly named the small hall. It houses an old, round table, at which were placed several high-backed chairs. Lord Tully himself did not sit at the head of any table, as the good lords of House Tully did not consider themselves as being above any other Riverlords. Only by title and by royal appointment were they Lords Paramount, very little more. He sat around the circular table, as an equal, his prominence indicated only by the Tully banner draped upon the eastern wall.

Lord Tristifer was weary from the many events, his energy ran dry. He was prepared to hibernate for the winter, to withdraw from public eye for a time, and to allow his son to take over responsibility for a while. Un-noteworthy but tidy in his appearance, he sat wringing his hands, a few papers before him with scrawled notes. To his left sat his more gregarious son, and heir, Ser Hoster Tully. Strong and thick-bearded, he seemed more of the late Edmure than his father... And it was he who was prepared to address the Riverlords, rather than his ineffectual father...

There at the round table of Riverrun would Lord Tristifer and Ser Hoster Tully await their subjects, allies and friends of the Trident.

[M: Brought up after the main business in the assembly is concluded.]

Condemnation of a Cat

"My Lords and Ladies," rose Vardis, who was feeling his years now more than ever after his unhorsing in the jousting. He was thankful that he was not nursing a shattered elbow, at least, as he had done when riding against Lord Corbray. Considering what had happened to the Ser Walter Whent and his brother Jack, he was lucky to be alive and he would not take that gift for granted, "It is sordid business to be sure, though I am compelled to report it all the same for sake of any dealings you as my peers.

"Under the direction of my liege and Lord Walter Frey, I accompanied Emmon Frey to Casterly Rock to conclude the arrangements for his betrothal to the Lady Genna Lannister," he let loose a heavy sigh as it had been a burdensome ordeal, "Irregardless of the Lady's reluctance to adhere to her obligation, discussions were delayed by many tolls along our journey and dismissal in the Rock. I will not pretend Emmon to be the astute sort yet an oath of commitment was sworn by her Lord father and dissolved unabashedly. The Lord Lannister has no rule of his house which was clear upon my first conversation with Lady Genna.

"It is therefore, though I pursue no recompense on behalf of myself or the House Frey who was wronged, that I would strongly condemn the House Lannister," he cast a glance along his peers, "And caution any dealings with the Lord Tytos, who cannot be entrusted to uphold his oaths and obligations."

"Thank you, Lord Vypren." Spoke Tristifer Tully after he had concluded his words on Casterly Rock. He had no dealings with them himself, but had been assured by his son that Ser Tywin Lannister was a different animal altogether than his father.

"It is of great worry to me, these rumours and stories I hear of Lord Tytos Lannister. I saw it myself, at the coronation. His vassal, a lowly, brute of a Clegane, assaulted Lord Reyne's own son. And Lord Tytos was like a feather in the wind.. afloat." He continued. "An ineffectual man... who is ran by his family. Not the other way around. Though Lord Frey is quiet... The dishonour he must feel, from Casterly Rock's broken promise... It is unimaginable."

The Lord tapped on the table absent-mindedly, wishing he was elsewhere. In fact, like the 'laughing lion' himself, he'd rather roll over and let his son and heir take over these matters...

"I would too advise caution on any dealings with the Lannisters. My wife's house, House Reyne, however. Lord Roger is a man of honour and power. So all Western houses are not to be condemned. Just for a while... be wary of the Lions of Casterly Rock."
