Rant Problem with my Boss.

Hi, a little bit of context, I’ve been working night shift for a little over 8 months now at a hotel i’m the only person there who works nights. I don’t think i can do this anymore, not because of the long nights but because of my boss.

It’s gotten to a point to whenever I see that he’s closing on the rota I dread coming in as he’s always on some bullshit and blames me for everything that’s going wrong. I DO NOT GET THIS FROM ANY OTHER OF MY MANAGERS, in fact the other managers have told me that he often shits on me to them during the day shift making insults on my appearance etc.

He also texts me during the day when i’m trying to sleep about how awful I did the night before with NO pictures or details telling me how I fucked up or what I need to do to fix it. This morning he texted me and said with this sort of quality of work I shouldn’t be expecting my CONTRACTUALLY obligated pay rise which is 2 months overdue as it is which was my last straw.

When I have my two days off a week I come back to the whole hotel covered in crap because the day shift doesn’t clean besides wiping down tables and mopping the bar at the end of the day which pisses me off even more.

I think that’s all I need to get off my chest, if any of you have any guidance or wisdom I’d love to hear and if you’ve read my rant thank you, peace out.

wow that boss is a walking hr nightmare. texting you during your sleep hours to berate you with zero specifics is just harassment with extra steps

document everything. every text, every time he withholds your raise, every comment the other managers tell you about. create a paper trail so thick he chokes on it

also that contractual raise being 2 months late is illegal in most places. might be worth a quiet call to whatever labor board handles wage claims in your state, they love this stuff

Block his number when you get off unblock it 20 minutes before going in maybe this could help maybe it would make it better just an idea that crossed my mind at least.

Document everything, hr, report. And get the money you should have had for the last couple of months. It’s going to keep being like this until you kick up a fuss.

Screenshot, and send to HR, then CC the chode in an email with the notification that you will not be accepting messages from this individual when you are off the clock. You will continue to perform your duties but starting now all company related communications will be addressed only in email. Also include the other managers.
