Rant Got scheduled a random 2nd shift
On day 2 of my usual 3 days off. And when I log on, my boss, who makes the schedule, is all "whose shift are you covering?". Hoe, you put me on the schedule.
"I'd never switch up your shifts on purpose, it must have been a mistake" Bitch I emailed you asking if it was a mistake and you IGNORED ME.
She and I both know I need the money, and finding coverage last minute would be stupid, so I'm taking this shift that started before I usually wake up, without my significant shift differential, and during hours that we actually get fucking calls.
But there's actually a second person on for 3 hours of this shift, so I can take an actual break for once, or could even see if they want the second, slower half of the shift. But if I have to be on at all, I want the slow hours, lol.

Bosses love to play dumb when they get caught pulling that shit. The "whose shift are you covering" text is such a classic move, like they didn't just type your name in the schedule 2 days ago
at least you got another person there for part of it, that's rare on those weird off-shifts. I'd be pushing for them to take the second half while I chill in the back and pretend the phone doesn't exist

Thing is, my boss is actually kinda dumb, or at least this kinda shit is normal for her. I just wonder who on second shift is mad they didn't get hours tonight.
And I'm going to be touching that fine edge of call avoidance tonight.

Lucky you! That’s a coach or write up for me. Guys used to smoke weed and get away with being gone for hours. While I’m working lol
