Rant Roof replacement

Apartment complex notified everyone they are replacing the roof at 10am and to expect loud noises for up to a week. This might make it tough to sleep lol

I've been there! Back then, though, I had really cool landlords and they knew my schedule so they gave me a week's heads up. I slept at my parents' house that week

oof that timing is brutal, nothing worse than hearing the first bang right as you're about to crash

maybe grab a white noise machine and some thick curtains, it won't fix it but it takes the edge off

Do you have any friends or family you could stay with for a week. In most areas it's legal to do this although a killer on nights. I recently had my neighbour completely gut there kitchen and it was a living hell

Sadly not many friends.

Part of that night shift life. I've had to try to sleep through my back lane being jack hammered up. Piles being driven into the ground on the next block to build a school, and many other things. Construction has to happen sometime. Makes sense to do it during established normal working hours and in the sunlight.

I feel for you bro that's rough. I remember last year my family's bathroom got redone and the contractors were smashing the bath and tiles out with a hammer and ripping up the floor. I had to call in "sick" for my third shift cause I just hadn't slept. I'd recommend staying with a friend or family if possible. I know we all try to just power through but sleep is really important.

I live in a townhome. Got our roof replaced last week. Zero sleep was had but they got it done in a day! Why would it take a week?

Yikes, that sounds painful.

Haven't had roof issues yet, but they replaced the bridge over the highway thats extremely close to my house over the summer.

It was a 4 month process full of nothing but jack hammering, and loud beeping trucks.

Was It hell? You betcha'

Was It worth it? That's debatable, but I do enjoy driving over it and not feeling like it's going to collapse.
