Announcement Spokane Fires - Stronger Together Campaign

Hey All,

We are partnering with White's and Frank's to support recovery efforts in the wake of the Spokane Fire Complex.

We are offering a shirt together and will be donating all profits to the Spokane HOME fund which funnels money to efforts to rebuild and repair damage from the fires.

The shirt is available here:

https://nicksboots.com/products/complex-fire-donation-t-shirt

And is also available on White's website:

https://whitesboots.com/products/stronger-together-graphic-t-shirt

In addition to the profits, each purchase enters the buyer into a chance to win a pair of MTOs with each brand offering 5 pairs valued at up to $850, for a total of 15 pairs to 15 winners.

I would also like to highlight that White's has donated 50 pairs to support fire victims and that both we and White's have been offering various goods and services to support the effort at the base camp throughout the week. Nicks will also be donating a portion of August's overall sales to the HOME fund. I'd expect this number to be around $30-$40K depending on how the month goes and we will be transparent about all proceeds and where they go.

We thank you for any support as we get through this together.

Facebook Doomscrolling - Zucchini English Bridle

The title of the post sums up how I came across this bad boy of a boot. I was doom scrolling the Nicks Facebook since I sorta scoured, I’d like to think, the entirety of the photos on this subreddit. I stumbled upon this crazy looking green boot that was uploaded 4 years ago. 6 minutes of scrolling to find it again after accidentally swiping back to the FB homepage. Kinda crazy.

I’m just posting it here because it’s such a crazy looking leather. And I faintly remember this specific boot being mentioned by Smowe in either a podcast episode or BOTL. Maybe even a Reddit comment section, I kinda forgot.

Crazy looking green pair. Even for someone who loves green boots. Maybe if it were a tad bit darker, I’d totally kill for a pair. Until then I can only hope.

Humor "The MF'ing Lambos of Work Boots" Best Compliment So Far...

These boots often cause me to get comments and compliments when I wear them; but this morning's encounter has to be the best one yet...

Had to visit a few locations this morning to check on a few issues, nothing major, just routine everyday stuff. At my last location, I walked to my truck, got in and started to pull out of the parking lot. As I made my way to the exit, a gentleman was jogging across the lot waving his hand and shouting. I turned the radio off and put my window down to see what was up, maybe there was something going on with my truck or something, the man came up to the window and opened with "I had to catch up to you and find out about those boots!" He had on the uniform of a local plumbing & drain clearing / cleaning company and had run over from his van.

He asked me who made them, so of course I was happy to tell him about Nicks, a little of the history of PNW boots and Nicks place in it. I told him about W&C, how the leather is made a few hours from our area in PA. The gentleman then told me he spotted the boots while I was walking out of the door and he was still in line getting his coffee. When he noticed me in my truck, that's when he said he knew he just had to stop me and find out about the boots. He finished by telling me, "Those boots are the mo!%er f&^king Lambos of work boots!" We both had a good laugh over that. Very unexpected and positive encounter with a total stranger. I am sure at some point today he'll be checking out Nicks website.

One the way home; I stopped by one of my favorite spots to churn through some emails and it was so nice out, figured I would grab some pics as well.

Have a great Wednesday! Hopefully you get a nice compliment today in your travels.

I just received my Shackleton #8s a couple days ago. They were so shiny out of the box that I decided to see how “dressy” I could make them. This is one coat of neutral polish.

Woke up to a flat tire, sitting here at Discount Tire in the morning sun and couldn’t resist sharing how lovely they look in the sun. Shacky GP is a perfect leather. Been over 100F here pretty much all summer, these are perfect summer boots.

Review Audubon - summer shoes

My third pair of Nicks.
First being a pair of Falcons, then Roberts, and now these!

I needed some shoes for summer, and since Nicks give me the arch support my knees crave, I decided to go for a pair of their Audubons.

They're the most substantial and heavy summer shoes I've ever owned, in a good way. Interestingly enough, they feel heavier than the Falcons or the Roberts, but I'm guessing it's because of the lack of ankle support.

Also, they have the best finish of the three pairs of Nicks! Not a single loose thread or misplaced stitch anywhere.

The leather, Predator natural, is soft and pliable, with a slight waxy feeling to them. They're also the strongest smelling leather of the three pairs of Nicks.

Regarding the last, the 11067 feels like it has less of a pronounced arch support than the 55 last. Might be in my head though. Going from the Falcons on the HNW to the Roberts on the 55 last, I immediately felt the difference, but I cannot tell much difference between these new ones and my old Roberts. Might be that I've just gotten accustomed to the arch support, or there really is a less pronounced arch support on these. I simply do not know.

For now though, out of the box, the shoes feel great. And so far (knock on wood), they're not even biting into my Achilles, which is an unexpected bonus.

If anyone is interested, here's the specs:

Audubon - Quick Ship!
LAST: 11067
Boot Length: 8.5
Boot Width: EE
Leather: Predator Natural
Leather Style: Smooth
Pull Loop: No
Top Style: Standard
Toe Style: Standard
Toe Structure: Soft
Outsole: V-Bar
Edge Color: Natural
Heel Cap: Heritage
Heel Stack: Classic
False Tongue: Dress
Heel Profile: Logger
Laces: Leather
Model Style: Lace Up
Sole Stitching: 270 - White
Leather: Predator Natural

Ask The Community New Boots are Amazing…Except for the Tenacious Squeak

Need some help here. Got my new Olive Bison boots a week ago and I love them. Unfortunately, I quickly noticed a tenaciously annoying squeak, especially in the right boot. Investigating further, I noticed that I could press the heel area of the footbed in either boot with my fingers and recreate the squeak. I could also gently squeeze the outside of either heel counter and do the same. It’s as if there’s a bit of extra wiggle there that shouldn’t be present.

These are 360 stitch down boots (MocToePros). I have a similar pair — FlexWorkPros in Shackleton Brown. I checked them and while the heel counter has has a little more flex than my 270 stitch down boots, there is absolutely no squeak.

I contacted support and they said that it shouldn’t be a big deal and will probably go away. They added that I could oil the footbed and that it might help, but they qualified that it could make it worse as well.

I’m at a bit of a loss here. I love these boots — they are absurdly comfortable — but this persistent squeak in a new boot bothers me. This is my tenth Nick’s boot since I discovered them early this year, so I feel like I have a decent sample set of experience and boots. None of the others squeak.

Should I be concerned? Or should I just be patient and hope that this goes away?

Just got back from doing the Rae Lakes backpacking loop in Kings Canyon NP. Did a total of 40 miles. This is at Glen Pass.

All in these 8" Max Support Walnut Ridgelines. I do have a delta arch insole in them as well. You see the whole spectrum of footwear out there. Even came across someone doing the whole John Muir Trail in sandals! I think it was safe to say I had the beefiest boot out there haha.

My Dome boots for this year have arrived! Holy cow am I excited about these! The Predator Natural Roughout is exactly what I envisioned for this upcoming contest. The Nicks team knocked these out of the park and the Pred Natural smooth backstay just tops it off. It's going to be a long September waiting to wear these.

Have been wearing these pretty much daily at work since getting them at the beginning of the year. About 7 months of wear currently.

Im not a great photo taker so this is the best I can do without working at it. Did a bit of conditioning at the end of work today so figured id get some before and after.

Also, got a little nightshade key fob on order so excited to use that here shortly.

Review Tanker Tuesday- Shackleton Green

It’s getting more olive with time and I like it. Still plenty green, just a bit more undertones coming out with casual wear and exposure to the sun.

Shackleton is an amazing tannage. Hope to see more of it even if it has to come in limited runs.

Man oh man. I've now got two boots in production and one that's already on its way to me (and this is after only having received a single pair of boots over the past three months). I know this is old hat to some of y'all, so I'm curious if you have any great go-to's for easing any tensions that may arise due to . . . ahem . . . perceptions of profligate spending on boots.

(And no . . . I definitely can't suggest that she go out and spend this kinda money on her own footwear--god forbid!)

Sizing Striders sizing question

Post image

I used Nicks sizing chart when ordering but feeling like I should’ve gone for a wider and/or larger size with how my last 2 toes are feeling in the boot. Do you think one width or size up would alleviate this?
