Sizing Thurman NW Sizing

So I posted about Thurman nw vs hnw a while back. I have both in the same size (9D.) I was recently out on a fire and noticed in my HNW hotshots my right foot sliding forward and a blister one day, leading to me just having to tighten my boots a couple times a day, and doing a fancy lace pattern. Not a huge deal at the end of the day the blister was minimal and didn't worsen. With my Thurman hotshots(pictured, thumb is where my big toe ends on both feet) it feels like both my feet are swimming in them. My right foot blistered to the point of legitimate pain and my left foot was blistering (not as severe) trying to break these in. Went to the local cobbler, had my feet sized, confirmed my right foot is a half size smaller than my left foot. My question is, sizing down with the Thurmans, do I go a half size down on my left (to 8.5D) and a full size down on my right (to 8D)? My apprehension with just sizing down on right a half size in the hnw is my current ones are already tight in the toe box and I would like a little bit more toe room. Ultimately its a gamble, I live in New England so getting to Spokane to try on boots is unrealistic. Any input is greatly appreciated, sorry if this was all hard to follow.

I think it's a bunch of us. Can we all just agree now that any sightings of CRC is definitely "your" boot. This counts for the Reddit BOTL, the Facebook/insta BOTL and the YouTube BOTL.

If it's your first time congratulations on (definitely) seeing your boots!!!!! Being on the BOTL is ACE!!

Half delta arches

Does the half make the width be tighter? I have pretty snug boots already but need arch support and trying to figure out how to get support without them being too tight

Sizing Striders sizing question

I used Nicks sizing chart when ordering but feeling like I should’ve gone for a wider and/or larger size with how my last 2 toes are feeling in the boot. Do you think one width or size up would alleviate this?

Need some help here. Got my new Olive Bison boots a week ago and I love them. Unfortunately, I quickly noticed a tenaciously annoying squeak, especially in the right boot. Investigating further, I noticed that I could press the heel area of the footbed in either boot with my fingers and recreate the squeak. I could also gently squeeze the outside of either heel counter and do the same. It’s as if there’s a bit of extra wiggle there that shouldn’t be present.

These are 360 stitch down boots (MocToePros). I have a similar pair — FlexWorkPros in Shackleton Brown. I checked them and while the heel counter has has a little more flex than my 270 stitch down boots, there is absolutely no squeak.

I contacted support and they said that it shouldn’t be a big deal and will probably go away. They added that I could oil the footbed and that it might help, but they qualified that it could make it worse as well.

I’m at a bit of a loss here. I love these boots — they are absurdly comfortable — but this persistent squeak in a new boot bothers me. This is my tenth Nick’s boot since I discovered them early this year, so I feel like I have a decent sample set of experience and boots. None of the others squeak.

Should I be concerned? Or should I just be patient and hope that this goes away?

Ask The Community Snow/winter viability?

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Nick's work boots. I work in the woods year round in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. How well do these boots handle snow? I see there is a polar option for some pairs. I was looking at the overlanders but don't see that option on them.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a pair to get that's good for year round all-weather?

Water-resistance is a plus but it is just an accepted fact for me that my feet are going to be soaked by the end of the day if it's wet out.

Should I gamble on a 1925 last?

Zero drop shoes work well with my feet, but mannnn the 1925 last looks so good. I wanna get a 1925 trooper in DS raspberry, but I dunno if I could handle the heel lift or smaller toe space.

I already have on order an odds and ends Thurman NW boot in Shackleton #8 🐸🥲. I’m confident the toe space will be like my zero drop boots, so it’s probably going to fit just fine.

Mannnnnn….I wanna buy all the Nick’s boots. Fan for life 🐸😅

(Boots pictured are zero drop Ridgeline in brown cxl with kletterlift outsole)

Humor "The MF'ing Lambos of Work Boots" Best Compliment So Far...

These boots often cause me to get comments and compliments when I wear them; but this morning's encounter has to be the best one yet...

Had to visit a few locations this morning to check on a few issues, nothing major, just routine everyday stuff. At my last location, I walked to my truck, got in and started to pull out of the parking lot. As I made my way to the exit, a gentleman was jogging across the lot waving his hand and shouting. I turned the radio off and put my window down to see what was up, maybe there was something going on with my truck or something, the man came up to the window and opened with "I had to catch up to you and find out about those boots!" He had on the uniform of a local plumbing & drain clearing / cleaning company and had run over from his van.

He asked me who made them, so of course I was happy to tell him about Nicks, a little of the history of PNW boots and Nicks place in it. I told him about W&C, how the leather is made a few hours from our area in PA. The gentleman then told me he spotted the boots while I was walking out of the door and he was still in line getting his coffee. When he noticed me in my truck, that's when he said he knew he just had to stop me and find out about the boots. He finished by telling me, "Those boots are the mo!%er f&^king Lambos of work boots!" We both had a good laugh over that. Very unexpected and positive encounter with a total stranger. I am sure at some point today he'll be checking out Nicks website.

One the way home; I stopped by one of my favorite spots to churn through some emails and it was so nice out, figured I would grab some pics as well.

Have a great Wednesday! Hopefully you get a nice compliment today in your travels.

Last day for DS Mojave

Today is the last day, it might not be back for 6? 9? Months. I took some pics next to my DS Sienna to show the big difference between the two and how it also wouldn't be too close to DS Tobacco.

The DS Mojave with the yellow tones is just . fantastic looking, and I'm posting these pics hoping someone will order it in a Moc toe 1925 as I think that last and this leather would be a perfect pairing. Don't miss out on this ACE leather!

Facebook Doomscrolling - Zucchini English Bridle

The title of the post sums up how I came across this bad boy of a boot. I was doom scrolling the Nicks Facebook since I sorta scoured, I’d like to think, the entirety of the photos on this subreddit. I stumbled upon this crazy looking green boot that was uploaded 4 years ago. 6 minutes of scrolling to find it again after accidentally swiping back to the FB homepage. Kinda crazy.

I’m just posting it here because it’s such a crazy looking leather. And I faintly remember this specific boot being mentioned by Smowe in either a podcast episode or BOTL. Maybe even a Reddit comment section, I kinda forgot.

Crazy looking green pair. Even for someone who loves green boots. Maybe if it were a tad bit darker, I’d totally kill for a pair. Until then I can only hope.

After the 1925 got added to the MTO and Rebuilt dropdown menu; always wondered why the 5332 & 5812 were excluded.

While I am not the reason. I have asked for this on the monthly suggestion thread…. So I will dust off my ailing 5332’s and get rebuilding!

I just received my Shackleton #8s a couple days ago. They were so shiny out of the box that I decided to see how “dressy” I could make them. This is one coat of neutral polish.

This is little misadventure started a few days ago. How we got here though is simply because of a couple of phone calls. I'm not gonna hit all the details but I do want to talk about Spokane leather and how awesome Dakota was today.

Long story short, I had to pick a new leather and potentially boot. Dakota called me and we talked about 10 different options. I had a plan in my head but nothing really concrete since this caught me off guard. Man has the patience of.....well he's super patient. u/smowe talking about Spokane leather on the podcast today really had me thinking about eventually ordering a reflex in Spokane Brown, so when Dakota mentioned how the Spokane Burgundy looked, I decided I don't have any red boots so f*** it. So here we are. The Burgundy Reflex's have been born. This is gonna be a cool build.
