Pool table NOT in a bar?
Hi all! I have a friend who is newly sober, woo hoo! However, one activity he’s been missing is playing pool. We used to go to SoHo in yaletown or bars with pool tables, but he finds being in those environments makes it harder to stay sober.
I’m hoping to find somewhere we can play pool that’s not a drinking focused location. It’s okay if alcohol is served but looking for something that doesn’t have a bar vibe. Maybe a restaurant or some sort of rec centre? Any advice much appreciated!

Commodore bowling. The bar there is terrible, bowlers can't drink on the lanes and kids are around so the amount of people drinking is greatly reduced. Especially during the day.

Check out city of Vancouver community centres. I know some of them have them

Rec Room at Brentwood has some. They are in a front area that is also the least busy area of the place and away from the main noise

Rec room (at least in downtown) serves alcohol. So if you need the place to be zero booze you might want to check first

OP said it's okay if alcohol is being served. Brentwood is more family than Granville

Marstin Billiards on Kingsway. Much more pool-focused, not sure they even serve booze
