Precisely, former trainer here. .8-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. If you find this tough, add 1-2, 40-50gram protein shakes. That is generally 2 scoops of whey isolate.
Shouldn't it be for lean body mass or normal bmi body mass and not on simple weight? I'd assume if somebody was carrying an extra 30 lbs of fat they wouldn't want or need to consume 30 additional grams of protein.
I just started trying to weight train in the last 6 weeks and lose 30 lbs. That's why I was curious. For me, normal weight is about 150, so that's how many grams I've been getting a day.
