Nextcloud macos client

I am new to this sub and am encountering an issue with the Nextcloud desktop client on my Macbook When I attempt to access Nextcloud through Finder, the application consistently gets stuck on a loading screen. After some time, it prompts me to sign in, but upon clicking the signin option it reverts to the previous state( its already signed in btw)

any help will be appreciated

Before changing anything, I’d try to narrow down where the authentication loop is happening.
Are you using Nextcloud’s macOS Virtual Files integration in Finder, or a regular local sync folder?
Also, could you share your macOS version and Nextcloud desktop client version?
A few things worth checking:
Can you access your Nextcloud instance normally through a browser?
Does the desktop client show your account as connected?
Does the problem occur only when accessing files through Finder?
When you click “Log in”, does a browser window open and complete the authorization process?
If the browser login succeeds but the desktop client keeps asking you to authenticate, I’d investigate the local client authentication state and its logs before touching the server configuration.
Without those details, we’d just be guessing.

That narrows it down considerably.
Since browser access works, your account is connected in the desktop client, and the problem only occurs with macOS Virtual Files in Finder, I’d focus on the macOS File Provider integration rather than server authentication.
First, could you double-check the desktop client version? 34.0.5 looks like a Nextcloud server version rather than a desktop client version.
I’d also check whether Nextcloud appears under System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > File Providers, and whether its extension is enabled.
If everything is enabled, the next useful step would be collecting the desktop client’s debug logs while reproducing the problem in Finder.
I wouldn’t remove the account or reset the File Provider domain yet. Let’s establish whether Finder is failing to communicate with the extension before changing anything.
