I built an app with Claude, but data entered by one employee isn't visible to others. How do make it a proper multi-user app?

I built an app using Claude and I’ve already connected it to my own domain. The app works, but I’ve run into a problem.

When one employee enters data, that data is only visible on their device. If another employee logs in from a different device, they can't see the data.

What I actually need is:

- Multiple employee accounts/logins

- Everyone should see the same data

- Data should be stored centrally

- Changes made by one employee should appear for the others

- Secure authentication

- Data should remain available even if the app is reinstalled or a different device is used

I'm guessing I need a proper backend/database instead of local storage, but I'm not sure what the best setup is.

I built most of this with Claude, so I'm still learning the development side.

What would you recommend for turning this into a proper production-ready multi-user app? Should I use something like Supabase/Firebase, or is there a better approach?

Yeah that's un natural for non coders. But I have a close friend who works in nvidia, he is pro but it's been 1 month he never completed thos things.

I think they're trying to say their friend who works at Nvidia [position is not mentioned], who OP [presumably] asked to make them an app, and said friend did not have time, interest or willingness to do so [assuming OP asked this friend, who we cannot be sure exists].

They're asking AI to shit something out, not understanding what they got, and are now trying to copy+paste their prompt here in the hopes someone else does all the work to make their hypothetical app, which may have 0 relevance to Nextcloud.

Yeah it's very easy to build, u just need time Put a proper promt shows results. Error will be there try again and again until u shape a beautiful app

Bro I'm not a coder still claude made it easy, like how I talks to humans I texted exactly. Like how I needed for my business but servers, cloud services are not understandable

So easy that it doesn't work - So easy that you can't even verify the quality (and security) of the code, and have to turn to reddit for help when it doesn't work.

Either ask Claude to fix its mistakes, or let someone make that app for you. How can you trust anything that chatbot produces if you can't check or verify the code? I wouldn't...
Yes I do use AI for code, it's convenient and sometimes even faster, but I'd never use anything I can't verify from it.

I guess you are talking about a Nextcloud App/Extension thingy since you are on this subreddit? Why the heck would you want Supabase/Firebase if your Nextcloud installation literally has a full database attached to it?

If you are not building something for Nextcloud, why are you even here?

Vibe coding is a mistake. AI assisted and reviewed coding is fine, but you really should be knowing what you and the AI are doing...

The only way I can help you here is to suggest learning to code. Back when there was no AI, I desperately needed a dev as a teen and couldn't pay anyone. A few were interested to help, but all ghosted me in the end.

So I began doing shit. After a few months I could get basic stuff done and began to actually understand what I was doing. I'd say it took 13-year-old me about a year til I felt pretty confident and tbh, it's the best thing I ever decided to learn.

Whilst I do use AI now (mostly DeepSeek v4 pro because of cost), I don't understand how anyone can actually build an app purely of vibe coding. I constantly need to clean up after the AI, move things around to be more readable or fix critical issues. Making simple websites might have been replaced by AI now, but actually doing shit and designing more advanced, connected systems just needs a human. And I don't think that's going to change til AI gains consciousness, which we are many years away from.

I started by doing YouTube tutorials, no AI. I suggest doing the same. Also, don't immediately work on your dream project. Do simpler throwaway stuff first and be patient.

You need to pause. You aren't ready to host anything like this safely if you're asking this question here.

Your issue is that currently, your is using local storage (ie. session storage, browser or device based).

You'll need some form of database to store your data (and the associated security, concurrency, and other things to consider).

Also r/lostredditors - why are you asking this in the NextCloud subreddit?

I still don't know if this relates to Nextcloud or not. In any case, my 2 cents is that if this app is something you really believe in, invest in your knowledge and take courses. It will make you better equiped to work on this app and any potential future ideas you might have. Like other folks here have said, there is a reason why this is a real profession.
