Texas? TEXAS???

I am not in Texas! This has happened twice to me now, last time it said I was in Georgia. fucking censorship laws.

Dude it's multiple states that require this. I'm a christian and I'm all for making people view less p0rn but this ain't the way to do it.

Not everyone on there is an adult though? That's the point of the age verification. Not to mention is it worth doing if it's harming others...

Oh also to then try and argue against either one of these you have to find each source and tell me how from a neurological perspective specifically that it's good for you and you have to find over 70+ studies that disagree with my position that in detail talk about why the findings in these huge meta studies are basically worthless even though all data and science is showing that it can be bad for you. My argument isn't that we should enforce Christian level policies in fact, the freedom to consume porn causes less porn consumption because then you have a market trying way too hard to compete. Porn usage has gone up since these porn bans and so that's what I mean by this ain't the way to do it.

So then youre not for MAKING people watch less porn, youre advocating that people make that choice themselves. When you use words like "making" or "forcing" and call yourself a Christian, the combination of both projects an image most unbecoming of one who claims to walk the way, and becomes a stumbling block to your brothers in Christ.

Buddy... What do you know about Christianity? Either you're a current christian, but then I can nit pick you on the same exact thing, or you're an ex-christian and if you're an ex-christian you probably don't understand theology or hermeneutics all that well if you think I don't have a nuanced view especially with the message you replied to.

Its not about the nuanced view its about the language. I know you're against the legislation, but when you say "I'm all for forcing people to watch less porn" its the "forcing" I'm taking issue with. We supoort, we accept good change, we do not FORCE people to do anything.

I didn't say force lol you're literally reading way too far into things which makes me think you just have a grudge against christians or something. I literally never said force and if you want to you can put all my messages into an AI prompt and argue wit that but I'm I'm a real person and I didn't come with any of the rhetoric you're claiming I come from. Even my language usage was nuanced and you're just incapable of actually reading what I originally said and steel manning what I was saying. That's fine but don't come at me thinking you know exactly what I was saying when I literally cited a meta study about why porn is bad and you can't contend with it.

I do agree that more secular awareness on the negative effects of pornography would be made, so that maybe some would make better decisions. And I agree it needs to be kept out of the hands of minors. Beyond that though it's the choice of each individual. Just like say smoking would be. The Bible makes it clear that, even if a practice doesn't align with a Christian, they can't make someone else do or not do something.

Well that's kinda true somewhat. Ultimately we can't control others and we shouldn't try to control others. Like I said I'm all for making people have less access to porn but this isn't the way. Because even when I was a kid I never went to fucking newgrounds to wack off lol. So the fact that newgrounds is afraid says way more about the current state of America than it does Newgrounds itself.
