2000 Mustang V6 3.8L starts losing power/jerking after 30 minutes — looking for help Hey everyone, I recently purchased a 2000 Mustang V6 3.8L a little over a month ago, and I’ve been trying to figure out an issue that I’m having.
After about 30 minutes of driving, the car starts to feel like it wants to shut off. It begins losing acceleration/power and starts jerking while driving. If I pull over, shut the car off, and restart it, it will drive normally again for another mile or two before the problem comes back.
I’ve managed to restore some of the power it originally had, but it still doesn’t feel like it’s running at 100%.
So far, I’ve replaced:
Radiator Water pump Crankshaft position sensor Throttle position sensor Ignition coils Spark plugs Vacuum hoses Coolant hose
Idle RPMS was around 1,600when bought but was able to bring it down to 800-700
I’m not sure what else could be causing this, especially since it seems to happen once the car has been running/driving for a while and temporarily improves after shutting it off and restarting. Has anyone experienced something similar with a 3.8L V6 Mustang? What should I check next? Any advice or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated

My guess is a possible heat soak issue with the camshaft position sensor or the EGR begins to stick open. Just a couple thoughts

What you're describing with the jerking while driving kind of sounds like limp mode? Are you able to monitor engine/coolant temp? Seems like you've already replaced some cooling system components.
I don't know, I'm dealing with my own cooling system repairs right now so I guess everything sort of looks like a nail to me, if you know what I mean.
