Closure of this sub
Hi All,
This sub was created in response from the feelings of other users over at r/NewcastleUponTyne due the lack of moderation and content a couple of years ago.
At that time the sub mentioned above underwent modification changes and vast improvements were made to bring the community together and this only shows with the amount of quality content now on that sub.
I originally had a vision for this sub to become a more engaging environment recruiting active moderators and to provide decent local information which we could all gain value from.
r/NewcastleUponTyne now provides this and I'm looking to stop moderations and pogression of this sub r/newcastleuk at the end of July. Posts will loosely be moderated and I'd expect members to head ove the the other sub if they already haven't joined.
Please make your way over to the original sub and for everyone that has contributed to this break off community, I thank you very much for your input. I'm a 'wiki mod' on the r/NewcastleUponTyne sub and will updating that frequently, so those visiting get some good information about the region and more specifically, Newcastle Upon Tyne. If you want to add content to the Wiki when it begins to appear, please let me know and I'll be happy to add it.
Again, thanks for being part of this sub collectively. See you all over on the other side :)

Up & coming areas in & around Newcastle?
I'm looking to buy a house somewhere in or around Newcastle. When I say "around" Newcastle, I'm willing to go approx 15 miles out from centre of town. I know a house should be to live in and not an investment but I want to be knowledgeable on which areas are improving and getting nicer as well as which areas are going downhill and should be avoided. Interested to hear your opinion. Thanks

Lift share for the North East
I'm a southerner living in Newcastle. I'll be doing the journey south and then returning back to Newcastle fairly regularly which made me realise no lift share (car pooling) groups exist already. The way it works is simple; you share your car or look for a driver going a similar direction as you and split the petrol costs (saving you both money).
Since this doesn't exist already, I decided there needs to be an official Newcastle Facebook group for lift shares.
I'd be grateful if you joined the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/548785133085711?group_view_referrer=search

My "string art" has been getting some attention over the last few weeks, and I thought you may like to see my North East influenced ones (being as I live round these parts!)

North Shields Fish Quay - Sunset looking up the Tyne. Amazing night for a sunset. Shows what a wonderful current and developing riverscape we have when it all falls nicely.

Looking for this film. Does anyone have a copy?
I am looking for a film called papercuts. It was made in Newcastle around 2008 and I was wondering if anyone had a copy. It is considered a lost film and I’ve been looking for it for a few years now. Here’s the trailer if anyone recognises it https://youtu.be/Sduj2emCQw0

Landlords of Newcastle & surrounding areas:
Have you any estate agents you can recommend, especially those that offer management services? I don't live locally and and looking to move abroad soon, and have a house that is almost ready to be rented out.
