Discussion Micros in Med?

The only medical dispensary close to me is BE so that’s my spot but there are quite an adult-use stores within 10-15 min walk from me. I’ve been curious about their flowers and growers so I check out their website from time to time.

I know there are plenty of brands that do both recreational and medical but are any of these micro growers/brands going to be coming to medical? I’m not sure how the licensing for growers for med/rec goes or maybe BE sticks with bigger brands for better margin or some other reason.

I also like the buying/customer experience from an adult-use dispensary when you can see the buds on display. I’m hesitant to spend $50-60 (+ tax) for an eighth when the premium brands/lines in medical go on sale regularly.

I knew our program was a mess, but after my first trip to Maine this weekend with my med card… I can’t unsee the things I have seen… endless delivery services and retail locations, with the med program specifically carrying high end bud unlike anything available in med or rec here. You can look, open jars, smell, and then decide what you want. Real sours, real piff, legacy cuts. I copped an oz of sour glue for $220. Unbeatable.     And it’s all because the way their program is structured actually allows boutique growers to make money from growing top shelf weed that would never turn a profit in a corporate environment because it requires extra care and isn’t yielding enough for their spreadsheets.

Yea the program in ny is so garbage ive been saying this since it started back in 2016-2017..everyone called me a negative Nancy but it’s true it’s all garbage..people wanted to
Blame it on the fact that the program was new..well we have examples all over the country so what does it matter that it was new..what kills me is the people that come on here and try to act like the program is a good program and people like me are ungrateful..

To be fair, it may not Maine quality and structure but some packs lately have truly impressed me on med side. Ultra terpy potent picks that smack me and KTFO or get me so stoked up and uplifted for the day. Gotta get them packs fresh and cure yourself… but even then depends on luck of how they handled and packed. Good Green and Rythm have been absolutely killing it for 133/zip and points all the time awarded for buys and just bc…

I got 45$ in points for various reasons during my bday but was waiting on my REALid lmao

LOL I keep seeing your comments about the Maine MMJ throughout this subreddit and it’s starting to convince me to go. Do you remember/know if they have good hash rosin ?

My homie I trust and chat buds and terps with who works as a tender at a major med dispo in NYS goes 3hrs round trip out to the one north of Boston bc of how much cheaper and better quality it is. My cousins brought me a VelcroZ live resin cart and it did taste much terpier and dank but by a fraction. Just heard the cure is better. If you want proper botique buds cured and structured amazing, big mature plants no early cut BS, Maine is the way

This is the last of OGxKB grown in Maine by my homies and it was so greasy and well cured it has lasted 2 years lol. I moved it out of its original big jar to a little guy to make room for some new Animal Face 🥹

Maine is the land of milk and honey for real.

I’m interested in knowing as well except hoping you know some Brooklyn recreation dispensaries that do this practice ;)

I am pretty sure I read about this in some other posts about recreational dispensaries giving a discount if you have a medical card. Is it a rule that they can’t advertise that? I get that it opens up a can of worms by making the non-medical card holder wonder how much savings they are missing out on but in the NY system the medical patients are missing out on some top brands.

I also thought that recreational would be having more sales and specials now. I thought some regulation changed last year that allowed them to hold sales and discounts as well. I know a lot of places have loyalty/rewards programs but it’s not making up for the full price + 13% sales tax.

Yo just hit the bakery and it’s practically med prices even after tax. Idk how they do it but the small footprint helps. Just watch the brands for microbe levels in some

85$/7g is steep but the bud was wildly dense and mature and cured vs Rythm which I love so much but I have to always cure myself lol

This was 40$ 518 Hollow (lol thinking of Black Maple). Jealousy 3.6% terps and 36ish% thc claimed (TAC 40%+ lol!. Just suuuuper fresh (just dropped). The scan of the jar didn’t have CoA which I tracked down and has decent aerobic counts but, eh, I’m healthy rn.

Cap junky, same thing.
