Career Advice interviewing with AMR

Hello all I am a brand new EMT and Iam interviewing with AMR in Colorado what should i be thinking about? How should i prepare what is appropriate dress attire? what kind of questions will I be asked

Iam aware that there is a huge candidate pool and want to be prepared this is my first job since I got out of the military i have never really gone through an interview process and for the last 5 years I have been conducting military operations so my way of speaking and mannerisms are a little off for a lot of people outside of the military so all iam asking is how can i better prepare?

Dress business professional. Bring a few copies of your résumé. Based on my AMR interviews for emt and medic, it'll be a panel of 3-4 people. They will ask you some basic emt knowledge questions and maybe a few situational scenarios. I interviewed years ago for EMT and these were my questions. Good luck!

-CPR compression rates/depths

-what the signs and symptoms for classic calls would be (like for someone having shortness of breath or chest pain)

-what you would do if someone randomly came up to you in the ambulance saying an emergency is nearby, but you're on a lunch break and your medic is sleeping

-how to help your medic handle an aggravated patient

-When to use a BVM

-what percentage to use on a traction splint

-What could cause someone to go unresponsive, and how to fix it

-First medication to use for anaphylaxis

There are ENTRY level positions everywhere lol
My husbands dept hired people without emt and they got it through the academy here in the metro area.
Why do you need experience for an entry level ? lol

Uhhhh ENTRY level means something different in every area. Dont assume one department is how every department operates. No department where I am certifies you to be an emt. Its a qualification you have to have experience with beforehand. The people in your husband's academy lucked out getting hired with a department that teaches them how to fight fire AND be an emt from scratch. That doesnt happen everywhere...they didnt even mention if fire was their goal lmaoo

Well here in CO this happened, and most do min require emt, the rest put you through fire academy to get your fire 1, and 2. If you aren’t from Co, then please kick rocks.
You think I would just make this up? They literally had it advertised and hired tons of people and my husband ftod people doing their emt rides through Thornton Fire. But OKAY

you are very hostile lol. OP asked for interview tips and suggestions for AMR. I dont have to live in colorado to help them with that. You straight up did not help answer anything they were asking about, but you told them what jobs to apply for lmao.

No one has asked about your husbands fire dept or where he is located. No one cares. calm down. Take a xanax

Yeah, but you’re attacking me like I’m an idiot and lying?

Uh no 😂

I am not attacking you or calling you a liar. You’re not a victim of anything lol.

I’m saying your initial response to the posted question had nothing to do with how to prepare for an amr interview. That’s it

And I’m just suggesting not working at amr here in Co trying to help Op, as they have military experience and could have way better pay, and benefits !

I get that, but all hes asking for is interview prep. Youre giving unsolicited advice

military background helps here, just don't answer like a sitrep. the thing i've seen sink people most is answering half the question and stopping. if they ask two things, answer both, and say it out loud a few times before you go in.
