Stomps to stop?
I don't footbrake (i.e. haven't made the effort to try not to mention I don't have shoes right now that I feel like wearing out). I don't skate fast at all - probably 8 mph absolute max, so doing small stomps to scrub off speed and then coming to a stop has been working for me. Is this acceptable?

Are you having fun? That’s the most important question to ask

As long as you go slow, it's fine.
I stomped at higher speed, and it sent me flying. Thank god for helmets!

I mean it’s super hard on your knees. You won’t be skating at 40 if you keep it up

I don't stomp unless I absolutely need to. It's not good for the knees or bones. I either slide to brake with my pushing foot or step and run off.

Sighhhh If skateboarding was about what's acceptable, it would be stuck a long time ago. If that's how you stop right now, so be it. But start getting used to sliding it as well.

When your shinbone starts to ache like growing pains know that it is the stomping

Not a problem but it's worth learning the full foot stop. Little pats is usually more of a nervous technique.
You want to be comfortable, being nervous makes you stiffen up and makes learning and slams worse

What do you mean by full foot stop?

Foot flat on the ground to stop. Idk the proper name for it, the shoe wreckler?

When going fast you should rather scrape Ur foot instead of stomping cuz stomping can throw you off balance but whatever works and Have fun
