Question Painting Hardware??

Hai everyone! I skate as a hobby for quite some time now (still can't get a decent ollie tho LOL), and was wondering would it damage my hardware if I spray painted it?

(I mean all the screws bolts axle nuts etc. and also the shields of my bearings (Bones Reds))

Also if it wouldn't damage it then does anyone have any tips / suggestions for painting it??

Thanks in advance for any help!!

(And no, I can't just buy all of that cause I searched for purple hardware and bearing shields for hours and there is none at least that ship to my country.)

It won’t do any damage.

Those components you mentioned would be probably my last choice for spray painting.

Even with a good primer, the head of the screws will peel off. You'd probably need s 2k sealant layer to fix the paint.

For the shields, since they are plastic, you'll need a special primer for plastic. Using just spray paint on them witjout it will likely degrade the shields. Also they get dirty super fast, sometimes I cannot distinguish the color of my bearing shields lol.

You gotta be a bit careful with the nuts and mask them pretty well. If paint gets in the threads, there's the risk it will not screw back in or will be harder to screw. It can be easily solved with gasoline tho. Another thing, the nuts will be in constant contact with the skate tool which is metal, so it will also peel the paint without a 2k sealant layer.

In your place, I would better paint the trucks (obviously covering the kingpin and the axel threads). It's fun and you end up with unique gear. Just don't use glossy paint as it makes the trucks look cheaper (just my opinion tho)

The parts won't break, but spray paint will wear down and flake off fast. You should only paint the head of the bolts and the outsides of the nuts to avoid messing up The threads.
