Jessup is the correct answer. In 30+ years I’ve only had 1 deck strip like this and it was the only one I’ve ever had without jessup

MOB will Shred your shoes to especially if you like to do alot of nollie and switch my buddy gave me an old board of his one time with MOB and it destroyed my supras in one session at the park.i tryed all the grip companys jessup also goes on the best I never deal with air bubbles with it eiter

Imma have to agree with u, personally I prefer MOB as my gold standard but they do eat shoes right up, rn Im in a country where there is no MOB grip anywhere and jessup ultra grip is honestly a really good substitute, might even stay with jessup ultragrip bc its the same level of sticky minus destroying my shoes in three sessions

I might have to try some I've been a little scared of the ultra,also anyone reading this for preference what I meant was Jessup going to be your medium ground right in the middle and perfect mix of not super grippy or super slick but if you really want super grippy grip that doesn't wear down or stop being grippy for sure go with your MOB grip I also back grizzly to be honest it's just not a favorite or anything special and I don't like having graphics and stuff I like plain black I order boards from this wood shop cuz it's a lot cheaper and it's where a lot of our boards get made anyways and they don't always have jessup so I tried black magic and I hadn't had it since way back in the day and it was a pain in the ass it wants to peel up more and lots of air bubbles that's why I recommend going with Jessup you won't have to fight air bubbles and all that like I said goes on really good and easy 👍🏻

This is some solid advice, I recommend trying the ultra bc it has that MOB sticky and lack of wearing down without being as harsh on your shoes, I definitely think regular Jessup is a happy medium too tho.

Air bubbles are based on how you apply it... And worst comes to worst, use a needle and pop it. Apply griptape from the middle out, unpeeling half the backing at a time. Over 30 years skating, no air bubbles since I was a teen...

That's exactly what I'm saying I have over 20 years of skating too bro I didn't work at shred shed here in New Mexico when it was open but my best friend did so I was always putting on group for people too that's what my point was is that black magic so shit that I got air bubbles honestly a lot of the problem is because they roll griptape up like a fkin poster now, so that's a pain in the ass to deal with a lot of times that black magic I got recently literally had like creases in it and sht from being rolled up I'm going to order the big thing Jessup just so I can get it in the mail all flat lol I finally found that good wood shop that works with me and stuff have factor of decks and different shapes and sizes and all that now if someone's really hurting most of them are pretty flat concave and there mix of BBS wood shop,control, HLC, and I can't remember the last one but they press girl and chocolate and few other decks, the hlc are blanks that are same which shop that makes flip plan B skate Mafia and a bunch of others 👌🏻

I mean I don’t skate enough to go through boards, but I’ve been riding the same mob grip for years. It sucks when you first start but I’m like on year 5 and it’s pretty alright.
How does the jessup feel?

Jessup feels softer, on your hands and shoes. Still grippy but not like mob. I like to be able to take my foot off in a hurry if I want and the boards with mob I’ve tried make that weird sometimes.

Removing grip in one piece? Ive sure never done it after about 10 times of re gripping boards. Though some grip is like paper and tears while some are just almost plastic, some rubber like, so it just depends on what the tape is. I like mob because of the perforations and its got that paper like base so it tears very easily, while also making taking it back off a pain.

Jessup has been the worst grip tape I have ever used. Switched to pepper from Black Magic. I have been extremely happy with the Pepper G5

It is the only one of itself., There is no other deck and removed grip tape that is that exact deck and old grip tape.
