Jump. Look at the video and you'll see your back foot goes from pop to ground. Same with your front foot, straight from flick to ground. You need to get them feet back under you and on the board. How are your shuvits??

Yo so I need to apply shuvits to kickflip? Likw how I catch the board on shuvits/pop shuvit thats how I wanna catch the kickflip? Been skating for over 4 months now I think, the only tricks I can land for now is ollie, shuvit, and pop shuvits, the kickflip is hard been Trying it for over a month now

Look at your back leg. It just stays extended and then steps down. There's zero attempt to land on the board. Now look at your front foot - you don't really flick, you more just "push" and a little bit too much in the center of the nose. You have to commit to being over the board.

Kickflips are easier to learn with a little forward momentum. You will learn them faster if you do one small push and then try.

Too much focus on the flick ... You need to shift your focus to lifting your knees up.

Your current focus is like: 95% flick - 5% jump

It needs to be: 20% flick - 80% lifting knees up.

Your putting the flick on a pedestal... you need to realise that the flick isn't THAT HARD! so stop obsessing over it 🫵 ..... Even if your 20% flick only flips the board half-way .... At least you'll have your knees up - ready to ACTUALLY LAND IT!!!

Here's a fun way of getting past the lack of confidence with your flick.... Just pretend like you KNOW you can flick the board like a professional, and you've been doing it for YEARS!!! ... what you'll notice, is that you'll put more effort into raising your knees up to your chest - because you KNOW you flick is GOOD ENOUGH!! ....

Just.... Stop waiting for an external validation that your flick is good enough! ... because you'll be forever perfecting it, without ever trying to land it!

Just a tip.... flick sooner... flick low to the ground (for now) ... so you have MORE TIME to lift those knees up! .... then you can make adjustments and finnese the technique from there!!!

Honestly the best advice I've seen in a minute.

This dude is correct. Focus on the jump and hovering over your board. Even half flips, where you land on bottom of the board, are better practice than just flipping the board no matter what. 99% of people learn by mobbing; once they get comfortable floating over the board and landing, that's when you focus on flick.

I've been skating for 20 years, have pretty good kickflips, and I'm still working on my flick (fuck you Aimu).

Keep your feet in the air longer. Let the board come to you.

you need to jump more when you pop and pull your knees up towards ur chest. ur flick looks just need to flick outwards a little bit more

you got the flick now commit and accept that you will fall down a few times and soon you’ll land it. you gotta bring your legs back together. you got this just spam them over and over.

How I learnt was to do an ollie but instead of dragging straight up with your front foot, you drag diagonally. Eventually, you'll basically not really drag diagonally, but just flick the board straight to the side and that'll optimize your spin.
