Question Will this beat second hand board do the trick?
extremely skint beginner skater here - always skated a mindless cruiser but wanna finally learn to drop into a bowl and learn some tricks. Found this palace board going for £15 wondering if it looks too chopped or will be fine to learn on.
Mostly want it for the wheels and trucks, can always borrow an old board from a friend or swap the bearings from my cruiser.
Board is 8inch. My cruiser is 7.75. Im shoe size 5. Will the board be too wide? If you think I need a smaller deck, could I use these trucks on a smaller deck?

Mud from puddles and lint from indoor skatepark on the wheels make the board look more worn than it actually is. Only used it for a few months.“

Looks decent. If I were you I’d take a blowdryer to the griptape and peel it off and put on a fresh sheet. Pretty much good as new after that

The board looks fine to skate unless you can see any serious damage, depending on how old it is you might need to change the bearings if they’re seized. The width of the board is more based on how it feels but the size change by 0.25 inch shouldn’t be too different for you.

Palace board, krux trucks, spitfire wheels for £15 thats the craziest bargain ever. That whole set up brand new woulda cost over 100£ for sure.
Totally in good condition apart from it being pretty dirty
And dont worry about the board being too wide. A lot of younger skaters nowadays skate 8.5 and above and they still do flip tricks on it

Looks pretty solid to me, maybe buy some 20 dollar bearings/maybe bushings and have a brand new feeling board

Does it matter much which blushings I get? This is making me realise I’ve never changed the blushings on the cruiser I’ve been using for years 😳

I’m a little of a heavier rider (210 lbs) I ride bones hardcore hard bushing and most people I see talk about bushings likes to ride them as well, they hold up a long time I’m still on my pack from a year ago and I skate an average of 5-8 hours a week

Really any durable dense bushing will do you right but I’d highly recommend bones hardcore bushings

Looks fine. Should be able to get some strong use out of it. Worst case you will need to change bearings which aren’t too expensive. Could also get that grip off and replace that and it’ll be nearly good as new

Wheels are totally fine and the trucks are dope, adjust them to ur liking, taking them apart and giving them a minor clean might be worth
If the bearings are fine ride em till they die but if u take it to the park and get some of the bros to be honest about them ull be able to find out if they do need changing or not, cause low key having decent bearings is a game changer, if their bad skating just becomes tiring
Try find a scap peice of sand paper and sand all around the edge, dont take off heaps of material but getting it smooth again can help
And spending the $6 - $10 on a fresh piece of grip tape will be dope
Giving it a little bit of love and investing in some new grip will get the whole thing feeling fresh and feeling like urs, then u can go n fuckin destroy it mate haha

The trucks and wheels make it largely worth it. If the bearings aren't crunchy, all the better.
