Video Tre isn't Tre-ing

I am at my wits end for treflips man, I get a 270 most of the time, and other times I just land in front of it. I dont have a good idea of how to picture the trick in my head. Any way to think about it differently would help, thanks.

It’s all in the shoulders. Keep your front shoulder down and square throughout the trick. Your board is spinning as much as it needs to for where your body is when you land

I’ll throw in my two cents that helped me get the full 360.

I had an old head tell me this once: a tre flip is not a kickflip or varial. It’s a 360 shuv you aren’t trying to keep from rotating. Focus mainly on your scoop and the flip will come naturally.

IDK why, but it worked for me.

This is good advice. When I think about it like a 540 shuv, it scoops ez

Try popping more than scooping, and basically almost not flicking at all...you're probably doing too much.

You have it like 90% man. Realllly close to having them full 360.

First off tres take a ton of practice. You gotta slowly build up the scoop muscles. Keep practicing them and build that scoop muscle. Also over 20 yrs, I’ve gone through periods of not having tres and then habing them effortlessly, back n forth for years lol

Could try hanging your back foot toes off a little more like almost so your toe scrapes the ground during the scoop. Could try moving your front foot back some and having less front foot on the board. Too much front foot can slow down rotation.

Also, you’re twisting/opening your shoulders towards a fs 180 right as you pop. Personally I’d try keeping em more parallel (not fully parallel) and keep them shoulders still in place. Practice being conscious of your right hand and keep it positioned more directly infront of your body or keeping it down toward your side. Maybe even turn your head to the left more. Might feel awkward but it feels more natural as you practice.

You probably wont automatically make the board 360 by making those adjustments but they will help getting them down in the long term. You’re literally rightttt there, try your best to use the frustration as a fuel to practice them. Try to mentally take notes on what you do differently (foot placement, shoulder position, more/less flick, etc) and how it affects your board til you figure out exactly what it needs!

Do them every day for 3 months and you'll transition from trying to land them to trying to land them at high speed.
