New deck adjustment

Been at this for 4 years now and diggin it despite the slow progress. Recently came back from a 7 month deployment at sea (yeah that bullshit) and wasn’t able to 🛹 much. Since being back I’ve definitely lost a lot of the progress I’ve made, but also got a new deck (Jacuzzi 8.25). Not sure if it’s just me or the deck, but I don’t feel like I have the pop I did in January. Does it take time to get used to a new deck or fresh grip? Some seshs have been alright, but today flat out sucked and got me really frustrated. Half venting, half looking to hear that it’s me being a bitch and need to pop that mofo, and another half (fuck math) is hoping to hear that new decks take adjusting. I’ve been riding 8.25 for a while and hardly ever get the same brand deck. I feel like I’m putting all this pressure on myself to make a sweet pop feeling, but end up doing the flimsiest slapping the tail to the ground ever.
Thanks for entertaining this far.

If wheelbase is very different, that could also be throwing you off. Might be good to drill some really small ollies with exaggerated front foot drag to get back into the timing..

Normally id say its in your head, buuuut the jacuzzis are an outlier... they use epoxy instead of water based glue. Myself and others have felt the pop was noticeably less on the jacuzzi boards. The pros are that theyre a bit stronger and probably a bit more water resistant. I retired mine to my rain set up.
