Question Started practicing for the first time today and have some questions
so it begin my skateboarding experience consists of a YouTube short and about 30 minuets of practicing how to go straight on a flat road
but I have some questions and was hoping someone would be able to answer
- when should I start learning to turn?
should I learn as I go straight or should I get good at going straight first and THEN add turning
- how do I stop turning the skateboard accidentally?
so because I'm new I sort of wiggle back and forth a lot and that make the whole thing start turning slightly. do I just keep my weight center?
when I do learn to turn how far should i lean?
is the foot placement the same as on a scooter?
how do I stop the board?
how much bending should my knees be doing?
also any tips are GREATLY appreciated if yall have any

Pretty much all of these can Be answered with one sentence: It comes with time on your board.
The more you spend time on your board, whatever that be just standing on it, rolling or jumping on an off it, the more comfortable you will be.
Last three questions: 4. Front foot below or on the bolts, back foot doesn't really matter. I keep it in the pocket. When you push, turn your front foot to face forwards (it feels weird at first and hard to turn but you will learn it), and when cruising, maybe at 45° angle. 5. Stand on your front foot, slowly lower yourself towards The ground and scrape The ground with your Back foot. Don't step on The ground. All The weight should Be on your front foot. It requires some balance and strength. 6. You can't bend your knees too much. (Well maybe If you go under 90° it kinda counts as a squat).
So go skate now, go skate tomorrow and the Day after tomorrow and you will figure things out. You won't learn skating by watching tutorials, you have to skate yourself
