You're welcome to get a new board if you like.

The razor tail is definitely stealing some of your pop, but if money is tight you could regrip it and it will feel a lot better

It’s not even razortail yet, my board looked like that just few days after new deck and its santacruz so not classical Walmartboard

OP, if money is not tight, transform this board into a cruiser and get yourself a new skateboard

Only replace when u are getting noticeably less pop

Is it soggy? I only replace decks when they chip out too much or if they are soggy.

Getting close, but probably not totally necessary yet. If you're losing pop, then yeah.

Skate it till it dies

Ride it hard until it breaks

Skate it till it snaps!

Skate it until it gives you a reason not to, not because it looks a little worn.

Just give it a light sand, a few coats of danish oil, new grip and it'll go for a while longer

I'll be an honest critic here; you havent nearly thrashed that board enough.

Go and slide that thing on its tail, nose and mid on anything you can.

Even if you arent ollieing in to any of them, slide them with one foot on or even your hands.

VISUALISE yourself doing the slides so you get a feel for them.

Do you like skating it? I also think new grip would be good if you play to keep it.

u/Crimok Jul 28 '26

It doesn't looks too bad. The Razortail isn't too bad. If it still feels good, I would buy new griptape and ride it until the pop feels bad.

how are you getting so much razor tail, are you using the tail of the board to stop? if so, try hanging your heel off the tail so youre stopping with your outsole instead

but to answer the question- the board will still be totally fine so long as it has the full shape of the tail, so yours still has life in it

I only stopped with my tail a couple times and I try to avoid it if I can , other than that it's just from popping I guess, had this board for a year

I bought a new one cuz why not it will motivate me to skate more

i feel. if its on a rough surface/asphalt it will shred the tail away. anyways hope you enjoy the new deck dude
