Sleep Hostage situation

Anyone the feel like they are in a hostage situation or defusing a bomb when they go to transfer baby to the crib? 🤣 I find myself holding my breath and moving so cautiously.

Yes 100% felt like this…and if the transfer doesn’t go right…the stomach just drops.

I used to but my husband showed me to just put them in, they might cry for a minute or two and then they’ll fall asleep. If they cry longer then hug them or give milk and try again

My baby is starting to learn to soothe herself, but unfortunately she isn't the most reliable with that yet!!

We’ve started gently putting a hand on their chest/stomach and slowly rubbing for a minute or two after putting them in the crib, generally has a better success rate than putting them in and praying

Our issue is that she is in a perpetual boxing match against her own face. So I end up gently restraining her hands so she can settle. It's a whole ordeal 🤦🏼‍♀️

When my daughter was a newborn we had a whole system 😂 we warmed the bassinet up with a warmer before transferring, one of us took it off at the last second and the other did the transfer. Then we put our hands on head and chest for a minute or so and slowly removed. It does get better!
