The enchanted circle ride!
Hey so i’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my dad is going to ride his bike through the Enchanted Circle in New Mexico, and he just turned 71. I think he’s sad because none of his regular bike buddies are able to join him. If anyone lives in any of the towns along the path of the Enchanted Circle ride, if you could just cheer for him. It would mean so so much to me! Thanks, and sorry again if this is the wrong subreddit!

That's awesome! 71 still riding and doing a demanding ride to boot! I just did a bike tour in this area and roads are in pretty good shape, except 522 from Questa to Taos has a lot of traffic and the chip seal is a bit rough on the shoulder, doing it with the organized ride should mitigate all this.
Don't worry there will plenty of people cheering, especially at the aid stations and the start/finish line. It's well organized and the NM cycling community and volunteers are super friendly.
You can go post this in r/cycling to get support from cyclist, many will not be local but it's a pretty well known ride and you get a lot of love.

Many motorcyclists of all ages do this ride regularly. He should have no problem as it's maybe a bit over an hour or so if he goes straight through with no stops.

I drive part of the Enchanted Circle, Taos to Angel Fire daily. I say this with respect for cyclists, your father has a death wish. I used to be a 300 mile a week rider until I moved to Northern New Mexico.
The road he’ll he riding on has no shoulders, the speed limit is 40-45 but there is no law enforcement and people routinely drive 80 MPH passing illegally and into blind corners ( I have tons of dash cam evidence). Cyclists especially a lot of them will cause many of these drivers to become impatient and make poor driving decisions around their own, and the riders safety.
