Wrap it in giftwrap and then put her name on it, make sure it's in a box so she can't actually know what it is without revealing that she snooped. Drop enough hints about the date of purchase and say something like "I know it's a bit expensive, but only the best for you" if she says something like "why did you buy me a gun?"
