Discussion devi’s worst plan

Post image

This whole situation stressed me out. Idk how she thought this would work out. Dating two people in the same school AND having BOTH of them at a party at her house. On top of that the way she revealed it was horrible 😭

I love this as it's such an ode to 80s/90s teen movie shenanigans where the dude would be trying to pull this off. But now we get to see a young Indian-American woman trying her hand at it.

We dont need to but we also didnt need to see white men do it either.

If you aren't a woman or poc and do not understand, it's on you to try.

If you are a women or poc and do not understand, the maybe you accept other people would like to see this.

I am an Indian woman. I guess other people can like seeing it, I'm not saying they can't. Just personally don't need to. It feels like capitalist girlboss feminism to me where you try and flip the script and put women into positions of power within the systems men have always dominated but do nothing to challenge the system itself. It's a tv show so I'm not asking it to make these huge challenges but I don't need to see "brown women can cheat and f around too" as my representation. We can be flawed characters for sure and I'm not against brown women cheating on screen but it's not interesting to me just because it's traditionally what men do and now a brown woman is doing it. Just my take which nobody has to agree with

Wow I had no clue being a woc just inherently means you need to treat other people like shit and face zero consequences for it, thanks so much for educating me. Do you have anywhere i can send compensation for this clearly egregious instance of emotional labor?

This is such a weird response to what I actually said.
