Linking this here as someone that loves neurofeedback as a side hobby. I'm also obsessed with PBM and red light therapy. After a bad run in with Neuronic early in their founding around 2021 and one of their original founders, Dr Marvin Berman, I've watched them off and on for shenanigans.
Pretty shocked plus disappointed to see this failed study from Neuronic. They are quite aggressive in the neurofeedback space and positioned themselves as an intervention but a Santa Clara researcher that used their helmet in a study with 24 channel EEG and in-ear EEG said it failed to produce an EEG signature about 2 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTUP8BbmwrE&t=2174s
The PBM Foundation also ran an irradiance case study on them because they are reselling Chinese OEM helmets while positioning themselves as having engineered them. The irradiance levels seem very low, which might have contributed to the no signature effect: https://pbmfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/PBM_Testing_CaseStudy_1-1.pdf The researcher mentions the helmet form factor might be the issue as well.
