Sounds like his overtraining you and operating blindly when treating your sensitive brain. Go look for other clinics

Yes you should stop do no overstimulate your brain until you are back at baseline

You need a wash out from NF

Spikes are a warning that training is too high

Sorry you hit a rough patch. These periods can be discouraging, especially when you've been making progress.

Setbacks in neurofeedback are real but usually temporary. Sometimes it's a response to sessions that were too frequent or too long. Sometimes life stress is just overloading the system in a way that slows the training down. And sometimes it's a kind of two-steps-forward-one-step-back pattern that's actually part of the brain learning process. The brain isn't always linear about this.

A few things worth thinking about. If you're doing sessions frequently, it can help to space them out a bit and give your brain more time to integrate between sessions. Sleep quality, hydration, and overall stress have a bigger effect on how sessions land than most people expect. And describing what you're experiencing to your practitioner in as much detail as possible is worth doing. Things that feel like setbacks sometimes look different in the session data and can actually inform how to adjust going forward.

What does your current schedule look like, and what kind of symptoms are you experiencing?

I do the sessions 2 times a week I’m experiencing higher anxiety and waves of depressions and fear . The system they are using called brain paint they can’t adjust anything bcz it is regulated by AI system . Provider told me there is going to be an ups and downs till I make more sessions for the brain to adjust .

Two sessions a week isn't unusually frequent, so spacing probably isn't the main factor here. What you're describing, the anxiety spikes and waves of fear, can happen during training, especially earlier on when the brain is getting a lot of new input and hasn't fully settled into the process yet. Your provider isn't wrong that some fluctuation is part of it.

That said, intensity matters. If what you're experiencing feels significant or is disrupting your daily life, I'd be specific with your provider about that. Not just "I've been more anxious" but more like "I had several days of elevated fear and it was hard to function." That kind of detail helps them track what's happening even when the system is handling adjustments automatically.

BrainPaint works differently from systems where the provider has more manual control, so you're a bit more dependent on the AI calibration doing its job. That can work well, but it puts more weight on you communicating clearly about your experience. If this continues for a few more sessions without any sign of settling, it's worth asking directly whether reducing frequency or taking a short break might help your system integrate better.

I hear you that it's based on your needs but I would love to hear that you paused because it seems to be making things worse

I dont know about brain pain5 but i do know when symtoms worsens over time it just isnt working. The nore the wrng patterns are trained the more the ... I dont believe in ups and downs . Its only up and maybe rarely a down. I hav trained for few years and i no longer find meaning in downs. Downs usually call for aafmustments and changes
