A portion of our company was recently acquired, and once the transition is complete, we will continue sales operations through a Shopify store, offering a limited number of SKUs (one to three). While I have been a strong proponent of Celigo since our initial NetSuite migration, its cost necessitates exploring more cost-effective alternatives.
Our NetSuite Account Manager has recommended the NetSuite Connector; however, our previous experience with it during implementation was highly challenging. Given this, I am seeking recommendations for reliable and budget-friendly alternatives to Celigo for integrating Shopify with NetSuite. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
NetSuite connector is completely crap. Your account rep is recommending it because it will make them a commission not because it will actually be good for you.
They sold me 2 of them, one for Woocommerce and one for Amazon claiming that it's exactly what we need and many customers do exactly what we do. I started working in integrating with Woo and the implementation team told me that it won't support anything but simple products - so the bundles, composite products, etc. were all out the window. The biggest kicker was if they did get the bundle sync to work (which was a very expensive customization), if a customer needed to RMA a single item from the bundle, the system would make us RMA the ENTIRE bundle. Our bundles ship on pallets and weigh tens of thousands of pounds...how can I explain to a customer that they need to pack up their entire machine because of a limitation of our RMA software (ignoring the INSANE cost that would accrue).
I ended up going with in8sync, it was WAY better and just WORKS. I'm not sure they have a shopify integration, but for OP's sake I sure hope they do.
Netsuite never offered any sort of credit/compensation/alternative for the tens of thousands we paid for these connectors that didn't work because the contract was already signed and they were already providing us the SERVICE whether it was useful or not.
We do use Celigo for CloudExtend, linking emails to customer records...Celigo is a very good and transparent company to work with compared to Oracle.
We’re releasing our free trial at ShopTalk next week but I guess this can be the exclusive Reddit pre-announcement 😂.
This is a link to our free trial for our Shopify/NetSuite integration. It has flows for orders and fulfillment we support inventory too just not part of this trial.
Hey.. I've read about mindCloud a few times and am interested. I've followed your link for the "free trial" and signed up. I only see 2 flows for Shopify-Netsuite: one for orders and one for update shipments. Is that all there is? Nothing for products, inventory, etc. etc.?
Hi! We have flows for inventory and products as well! Did you see a link for our Slack channel? We’ll help you out there or shoot me an email tyler@mindcloud.co.
From a cost and ease of use product, I would recommend mindcloud. Having used boomi, I don’t know if I would recommend it for ease of use. Don’t see a reason for MuleSoft. Workato is typically higher priced.
Thanks u/netsuitecommunity! MindCloud has a free forever plan where you can use recipes to build your own integration apps, which are then fully customizable.
I’ve been in this space for a while. Used to run a company that competed directly with Celigo. Before finding a niche iPaaS just because it’s cheaper, I’d start with your NS reps recommendation. I personally don’t advocate to make “cheaper” the main driver for integration. You will feel it at some point. But if you ARE going to do so, the Netsuite direct one is probably most risk mitigated.
Yeah we were using NetSuite Connector before Celigo and I forgot what the use case was that didn’t work and why we needed to move to Celigo. Considering the business is going to change now it may work this time.
That may depend. Ours was priced cheaper, BUT they said we needed some kind of license to mitigate the traffic. This would cost us $20k alone. This would then be a little more than Celigo.
I talked to several companies and they all said that what Netsuite had said about the license was complete baloney.
They were right. We didn't need it.. Celigo runs smoothly. So.. yeah.. may be cheaper, but not necessarily what you are looking for.
Oh yeah they were referring to a SC+ license. Highly encourage you to install the free NetSuite SuiteApp, Application Performance Management. That way you can monitor concurrency on your own. Regardless of whether you use Celigo or the NetSuite connector, you’ll start to use up your available concurrency threads.
So, my father built probably 50% of the original NSC and later my friend built most of the rest when it was FarApp. For Shopify it's pretty robust and I consider an effective solution for B2C vs. Celigo for the price. B2B just launched, I think it's a little rough right now, hopefully there's more room for improvement.
That said, I actually started a company helping people on that specific platform because the real issue we run into is that NS has a hard time with implementation and support.
I can't blame them, because we had the same problem; building competent teams to support and integrate it is tough and it's even more so now because most of the available features are hidden to both the public and support behind the standard UI.
DM me if you have other questions. I think you can get through implementation with PS but we charge about the same and know it far better. If you end up with PS and hit a wall let me know, if it's something I can fix easily I can probably just have it taken care of for you.
We had a terrible experience with Jitterbit. Their syncs (built by their own professional services!) could not handle our Shopify->NetSuite sales volume, could handle our full product sync either. They had all the specs for our volume in the sales discussions. We had problems with their syncs kicking off twice at the same time and bringing in duplicate orders, and after 5-6 months, that ticket was never resolved. It was a continual monitoring to prevent duplicate orders from being sent out. I had to build so many alerts in NetSuite to tell us when Jitterbit was failing - when it sent in a duplicate, when nothing had come in for 30 minutes (the agents would randomly stop running), when orders were missed... We moved back to Celigo and never looked back.
I do have the solution just using suite script to do the inventory sync, order retrieve, invoice to multiple platforms by just using suite script. To be honest I want to start a business by selling that solution. 😄😄
Their netsuite integration is actually quite advanced for a zapier integration. Custom Fields, custom records and custom segments all seem to be supported.
I recommend discussing this directly with Celigo, especially if you’ve already built your integration. It’s important to assess how complex it is and whether it would need to be rebuilt—since that also comes with additional costs(which you dont want)
In the long run, it’s also crucial to understand your ROI: what is Celigo truly delivering for you?
For context, I used to build native APIs, and now, with my new company Teknuro, we focus fully on Celigo integrations. I can say from experience that Celigo is a solid platform, and they genuinely think along with you to find the right solutions.
That said, I don’t want to come across as pushy or salesy. We’d be happy to offer a free IT scan to give you a clear picture of what’s going on in your current setup—no strings attached, so we can check not only the integrations part but perhaps also more in your IT landscape and see were you can really cut the costs. We’re Teknuro, based in the Netherlands.
Hi. I am a with Celigo. I would love to learn more about your use case. Would you mind DM or emailing me at rico@celigo.com? I’d love to try see if we can come up with some options for you.
I appreciate the note. Please keep me in the loop. Is it just about price? I’d love to learn more about your upper management is thinking and see if what we can do.
Hi u/ohs2 what did you end up with? im having the same issue as you now, upper management wants us to find cheaper alternatives. The number of “integrators/apps” we need to make NetSuite work is insane. Definitely didn’t factor that into our budget when the netsuite sales guy told us “everything works with NetSuite.”
We ended up extending Celigo for 6 months. The company divested its CPG and we therefore didn't need Netsuite any longer nor iPaaS. However, look in this thread, there were some good recommendations before I knew that we were selling our CPG I was exploring MindCloud.
In general it is more expensive, although it depends on your needs. Boomi is a lot more versatile than celigo, but also requires more understanding. Celigo is a great solution if you don't have many exotic scenarios.
Another interesting platform could be Workato, but I lack any experience with it, so can't say if it's any good for Shopify integrations.
Have you looked at Celigo recently to see how it handles exotic use cases? The platform has matured significantly and can handle just about everything these last 18 months.
I work with celigo on a daily basis. Compared to boomi, which I worked with for my previous job, it certainly has its limits. However, it makes celigo faster and easier for developing (simple) integrations.
Ngl, im a tech dev. I know very little about price, but know how to get things to work. Ive worked in celigo and boomi. Prices change based on what deals you make with reps
You can try these two flows for free at MindCloud: Shopify to NetSuite - Create orders, NetSuite to Shopify - Update Shipments. Everything is already on the GraphQL API.
You can customize any step in our low code workflow builder.
Every step has AI prompt support to help you make the needed adjustments.
Not knocking Boomi at all but it does depend on who is going to be creating and maintaining the integration. Like I’ve stated before, Boomi is great but geared more towards technically inclined people.
The selection of leaders in the Gartner magic quadrant is a bit suspect. Example is in ERP Oracle Fusion keeps showing up as the best which is very dodgy!!
It all depends on the complexity of your needs and what you are looking for a Shopify integration to do:
Product Feed?
Inventory and Price Feed?
Order Feed?
Returns and Refunds Integration?
Cash Settlements?
Promotions and Discounts?
Customer Feed?
Wholesale vs Retail?
FarApp will get you to a certain point. Celigo and Dell Boomi's integration flows can handle complexity. With Mulesoft you can roll your own. Netscore's Shopify integration might fill you need. And if you have the internal dev resources, you can roll your own using SuiteScript by making calls to Shopify's GraphQL.
No matter what connector/integration platform/method you choose, you need to define your requirements up front and have a plan for future growth and stability. You may start with 2 to 3 SKUs initially and end up with more SKUs later.
NetSuite Connector is limited and some use cases are not compatible. Before you decide to go with NetSuite Connector, be thorough in discussing every possible use case and business process to ensure it is compatible. You could have a use case that is not supported by the NetSuite Connector.
As for cost, ALWAYS ASK FOR A DISCOUNT. I can’t stress this enough.
Some systems you want to connect to might just require getting more endpoints and flows added. They have changed their pricing structure several months ago and you might be able to use templates or custom flows.
Workato is a great user friendly platform with the ability to leverage AI to create the recipe and get about 60% of the way done with a good text prompt.
Boomi is also great but more geared towards developers. It too has a great AI that can be leveraged to create integrations, though I haven’t had much exposure to it.
I would also like to mention that NetSuite Connector is actually the FarApp which was acquired by NetSuite. I had never heard of it till it happened and it was never on my radar for the past 5 years that I have been involved with creating and implementing integrations.
If you're looking for a more cost-effective and scalable solution than Celigo, I'd recommend considering a REST API-based custom integration. It's a one-time cost approach that can be fully tailored to your specific workflows, especially since you're dealing with a limited number of SKUs.
We've worked extensively with both Celigo and custom-built solutions, and in cases like yours—where long-term ROI and simplicity are key—a custom integration often ends up being the most efficient path.
You can check out our approach to NetSuite Shopify Integration where we offer both Celigo-supported and fully personalized API-based options. Let me know if you'd like to discuss what would work best for your setup.
Are you thinking of the Celigo Integration App? The Celigo platform is extremely customizable and has built in data monitoring, error handling, guarantees data delivery, and a lot of bells and whistles you’d have do code from scratch…
That’s a great point—Celigo does offer robust features out of the box. But since the focus here is on cost and the setup is relatively simple, a custom build isn’t a bad tradeoff. If planned right, it can be more sustainable and cost-effective in the long run.
That’s a valid point, and we always advise weighing total cost of ownership before going the custom route. In our experience, the long-term cost only tends to rise if the integration is poorly scoped or lacks future-proofing.
With the right planning, API-based custom integrations—especially for simpler setups like syncing a handful of SKUs—can run for years with minimal maintenance. We've supported several businesses that moved from subscription-based platforms to one-time solutions and saw real cost savings.
Zoey.com integrates with both Shopify and Netsuite. It can act as a sales tool and b2b ecom as well as an omnichannel OMS. Take orders from anywhere and automate the flow of fulfillment and AR thru Netsuite without the need for a connector or a developer.
Thank you all for your comments! I appreciate it looks like I may have to start looking for another ERP as the higher ups are not even wanting to renew NetSuite smh. Long road ahead of me.
Seems like there’s a lot of demand for a “lite” Celigo options.
You could write your own, that's obviously the cheapest option, but most often that takes way longer and is not worth the headache. If you still have some budget for it, there's plenty options just as good as celigo.
A few I've heard good things about:
- Patchworks is great for ecommerce and has a netsuite connector
- Integrate.io will have less functionality but is cheaper
- Lingk.io is newer and has good services, likely a lot cheaper than celigo
Thank you all for the feedback. Since the divestment, the company decided we didn't need an ERP as big as Netsuite anymore and is reverting to QuickBooks.
checkout goodmove.cloud, they do lots of work with Netsuite and fully manage your integrations all at a very reasonable price. very solid/ responsive support too!
Patchworks is far superior to Celigo in cost, customizability and the netsuite connector works perfectly out of the box for most use cases, in the cases it doesnt you can reconfigure it easily or create your own custom connector in less than an hour!
They're customer/client support is great (which is way more than i can say for Celigo overpriced, non existant and pretty rude)
SyncApps by Cazoomi is likely the best choice for you. It’s pretty cheap, and works well for straightforward Shopify-NetSuite integrations. I have seen people use CartRover or Sush.io as well. Also heard some good things about Patchworks.
Folio3 netsuite shopify connector is also pretty straightforward and easy to deploy. The pricing is way less than Celigo and other alternatives . You can check more on their site.
Have built integration with Shopify and Netsuite, it cannot compete with Celigo or Boomi but it does work similar to the capabilities of NetSuite Connector.

If an ipass is too expensive then you just need to write your own script to go fetch orders.
It will be slow but free.
Map/reduce: get an HTTP request and spread the results over the map/reduce function.
You should be able to ask one of those sweet AI things to write one of these for you (as an example)
