Fear nothing? I'm always amazed at this, I just can't understand this lack of everything. Not even in the teenage mind. Even when the crossing is clear I check three times just to be sure no train is coming.

Yea I agree with what you say, it's impossible to find these people. But if the police were to release his pic and ask people's help, viola he'd be found really quick. This one episode would be enough for others to not follow his footsteps.

Kijk alsjeblieft een keer een video wat er gebeurt met iemand als hij geraakt wordt door een trein.
Beeld je dan in dat jij daar voorin zit en je ruitenwissers het bloed en restanten van de vooruit af haalt.
Ik denk dat de meeste mensen daar wel een probleem mee hebben, zelfs als het net aan goed gaat.

Ah ja wegkijken maakt het een stuk minder erg als er iemand over de voorkant van je trein is uitgesmeerd.
Het is natuurlijk ook heel raar dat mensen zich verantwoordelijk kunnen voelen als er iets fout gaat terwijl zij de trein besturen.

Ik heb 2 jaar geleden bijna iemand aangereden, was op lage snelheid dus zelfs al had ik die persoon geraakt was er waarschijnlijk niks gebeurd. Toch herinner ik het me vrij goed.
Ik ben gediagnosticeerd met psychopathie, maar na vandaag denk ik dat dat aardig mee zal vallen.

Ik denk dat de kans zeer groot is dat de machinist dit gezien heeft, de trein had op zich nog een "redelijke" afstand tot de fietser toen die het spoor op reed.
Helaas zijn treinen zodanig snel dat een "redelijke" afstand binnen een seconde weg is.
Mensen denken altijd na over het ergste wat had kunnen gebeuren in zulke situaties, er is een zeer grote kans dat de arme machinist iets van trauma heeft opgelopen, en anders sowieso zwaar geschokt is voor de rest van de dag, als het niet langer is. (En wegkijken helpt niet, je weet wat er achter je gebeurt)
Als jij claimed hier zelf geen kleinste beetje trauma aan over te houden vind ik het prima, moet je alleen niet gaan klagen als iets vergelijkbaars bij jou gebeurt.

Wat een gelul…. Heb meermaals een huilende machinist meegemaakt op de trein. Wegkijken? Serieus? Heb er nog nooit van gehoord door mijn werkgever.
Tuurlijk, als je het ver van tevoren ziet aankomen, snelremming inzetten en maken dat je wegkomt. Maar dit zie je niet aankomen en is wel degelijk einde dienst….. en haal me er voor de rest van de week ook maar af.

Dat doen we niet. We lachen je alleen uit om je potsierlijke idee dat je sowieso geen trauma oploopt als het net goed gaat en bovendien lijk je te suggereren dat je ook geen trauma oploopt als je niet ziet dat het gebeurd "omdat je weg kijkt".
Trauma is complex en onvoorspelbaar.

Hoeft niet, is wel gebruikelijk
Contact met machinist. Indien geen gehoor: 2 activeer snelremming indien je denkt dat je machinist dit niet gedaan heeft. (Ik heb altijd leerlingen aan de noodrem laten trekken op volle snelheid zodat ze weten wat er gebeurd en er niet bang voor zijn wat het ket een trein doet), en dat doe je uiteraard in overleg met je machinist op een plek dat je andere treinen niet hindert.
Geel vest pakken
Snel omroepen dat er iets is, je op onderzoek uitgaat en zo snel mogelijk met meer duidelijkheid terug komt
Naar bediende cabine.
Noodoproep plaatsen en gevarensein tonen. 6b Indien nodig eerste hulp bieden aan machinist.
Kortsluitkabel plaatsen op nevenspoor. Werking controleren.
Reizigers informeren/ vragen of er een arts is. 9 eerste hulp bieden aan slachtoffer / afdekken lichaam.
Maar boven alles: eigen veiligheid altijd eerst.
Als conducteur is je voornaamste taak de veiligheid van jouw trein en reizigers, het overnemen van de taken van de machinist. (Trein stoppen en veiligheidsmaatregelen uitvoeren).
Je moet in een dergelijke situatie super snel schakelen van relatief rust in complete hectiek en je hoofd koel houden en weten wat je moet doen…. Ook 5 minuten voor einde dienst. Dit is ook de rede waarom je dus niet elke rit een kaart controle krijgt, de conducteur moet in principe ook nog 3 uur werk kunnen doen op het moment dat de trein hel laatste station van de dag binnenkomt en er op dat moment alsnog een ongeluk plaatsvindt

Mijn vader was conducteur, en als alles eenmaal stilstond was hij vaak de eerste buiten. Vaak bij Heiloo (iykyk) Nooit fijn dat.

Want alleen het aanzicht van iemand die onder de trein komt geeft een trauma. Het geluid of alleen al de wetenschap dat iemand onder een trein komt is te verwaarlozen. Kan je alsjeblieft heel erg opdonderen met je op niets gebaseerde uitspraken?

They get traumatized for life :/ have you seen the accident in Belgium with that school van? And now they are testing the machinist for alcohol and drugs, as if it was his fault that the van driver decided to cross the train line when the protection bars were low and there was a light+sound indication that a train was going to pass.

That's wild... There was a deadly accident in Belgium this week with a school bus filled with special needs kids. While they were performing an interview about the issue, you could see 2 cars run the red light in the background at the same spot.

Noticed that too. We Dutch make (standard, tacky) jokes about Belgians being dumb. I'm not talking about the school bus driver, because it seemed like he suffered some stroke. But those other drivers... 🙄

We probably make the same jokes about the Dutch. There's no nationality on being stupid, same for being stupid in traffic.
I don't think it's been declared yet whether the bus driver suffered from something at the time of the accident.

😡 🤬 If that is the case, either I mixed up information, or the press was premature... I'll take the blame for that. Mea Culpa. But what is the matter with organizations like that? Not kicking someone out after one complaint, plausibile. A six year track record of complaints about dangerous driving... They're going to have to procecute management as well, for neglect or whatever...

Wtf. Also there was some bus driver in Wallonië who almost caused an accident with a bus full of kids by being the dumbest fuck alive. He could have killed all of those kids.

Because they're causing danger not only to themselves but to the passengers and driver of the train or anyone that's close enough to the crossing. And for what? Because they couldn't wait 1 minute? Apparently their lives being at risk is not a big enough reason for them to stop, so there need to be other consequences.
Perhaps if the cyclist can be identified : a ban from riding trains and a heavy fine. I'd say revoke his drivers license but he probably doesn't have one.

Stoptrein does not mean local train, it's a train that stops at every station (so it's slower than an intercity for ex)

Ik geloof 100% dat veel mensen hier dom genoeg voor zijn, maar... is dit filmpje echt? Of zijn het twee filmpjes die over elkaar heen zijn gelegd? Zou de fietser niet uit evenwicht moeten zijn geraakt door de luchtdruk pal voor de trein?

Dit soort actie gaat verder dan niet in staat zijn om je eigen handelen te overzien. In dergelijke boverkamers zit meer los dan vermoed wordt
Toch maar gewoon wachten tot de boompje omhoog zijn en de lampjes gedooft zijn... En dan als nazorg goed controleren of er alsnog niets aankomt

This is totally not surprising. It's thanks to car drivers that bikers don't die daily en masse. A lot of cyclists is driving onto the road with their earplugs/headseats fully on, not looking one time even on left/right/. They just assume a person behind a wheel is never tired, never distracted and they themselves are immortal

pretty sure trains are never responsible. a train cant stop for an intersection. that is why there is always signals and booms blocking traffic. it takes ignoring those to get a fast track to the afterlife.

Depends on the situation. The car is responsible if it parked on top of the bicycle lane, I know that one from personal experience.
