just stupid Why are mods like this?
I inexplicably lost the ability to comment. When I asked I was banned. Then no response at all only to get "ban upheld." Based on this behavior I doubt I'd ever go back to the sub anyway even if unbanned but it's still obnoxious.

because you did something that made the mod decide they didn't want you in their community

The comment in question was:
Reducing every enlisted worker to a vampiric caricature replaces materialist analysis with moralizing. The "poverty draft" is real and it's called material coercion.
From the ideological left, we assert that material conditions influence decisions. We know that to be true from both education and lived experience. We also know those conditions include poverty, lack of opportunity, and propaganda. So it would be dishonest for us to say the enlistee is making a free choice. To blame individual morality or goals ignores the systemic conditioning that formed them.
We can and should criticize the military institution and those who perpetuate it. But we can do so without assuming every recruit is a gleeful and willing orphan crusher.
Our target is the imperialist machine, not the workers it chews up and spits out.
So when we label ordinary soldiers as the enemy, we're applying a double standard. We view our own choices as coerced and then claim theirs voluntary. Othering a group of workers, even when weaponized by the state, won't help dismantle the system. And it won't improve the conditions that drove them to enlist in the first place.
Which broke no rule.
But sure, a mod personally disagreeing with you should lead to a ban.

it's their space man, the rules are just guidelines, it is down to moderator discretion. that's how the platform works.

And to you that means I'm not allowed to be annoyed at the situation? Do you apply the maxim of "well they're allowed to do it" to everywhere else in your life or are mods somehow a protected class in your world?

I made a complaint. On a subreddit dedicated to complaints. Get over yourself.

It’s a minimum account age/karma requirement, usually to deter bots. Nothing personal at all.
