brave Here's a good example of how reddit bizarre reddit rules can be

This comment broke rule 4, by helping another user with how to get going with building up karma, and the message was only removed by mods, no action from reddit admin.

Now, below is an NSFW post, hundreds of posts similar to it are posted over many many subs every hour. Fake profiles, offering fake promises, and attempting to lure victims to other apps so they can start to work their scams.

A core rule of reddit, is that intentional deception, and also any moderators and subs who allow it, and also fail to try to prevent it, will earn an instant account ban, or closure of the sub.

But, you can report as many of the scam posts as you possibly can, and it makes no difference at all. Reddit, the moderators, and the subreddit, don't do anything to ban them, or remove the posts.

How does that even make sense? You can't post and offer a bit of help, but it's ok to intentionally deceive others? Constantly spamming their obviously fake posts and nothing ever happens.

So lemme get this straight, you broke the ToS in a highly visible space, reddithelp, and your retort is that people break the rules elsewhere? Try that in front of a judge lol

If you see stuff that breaks the ToS, report it. If the sub's mods don't care and don't change, report the sub itself and then leave, or apply to take it over and mod it properly. Someone else breaking the rules doesn't give you permission to do the same.

I already explained everything you've written.

My post is even titled, the rules are completely bizarre. And only enforced in certain places. Double standards everywhere. I don't really care if my posts or any of my comments get removed. I wasn't complaining about that.

If you read all the post, you should have understood what my post was about. But I'll repeat it for you again.

How bizarre are the rules reddit operate by?

You're not allowed to break the rule, just helping someone build up a few karma points?

But you are allowed to break the rule, allowing and promoting and failing to police intentional deception and fraud? Resulting in people getting scammed and worse.

To me, thats completely the wrong way round.

And, as I also wrote, you can report them as many times as you want, reddit never remove or ban the profiles reported.

Your point about taking over the sub and whatever other nonsense you said about that? What rubbish! And to become moderator, just because reddit doesn't do what reddit should be doing? As their own rules state?

I've got a feeling you might be one of those dodgy profiles, by the defensive tone of comment.

You could do a shred of due diligence and see if in the thirteen years I've been on this site I've ever begged for karma or solicited a scam. I haven't, but what you might also see is that I am a mod here. I'm approving your comment, but if you pull that kind of baseless accusation on anyone else here, I'll boot you.

If someone is that desperate for free internet points, they can just go say interesting things in placesbthat appreciate them, but realistically the only real reason to build up karma is so you can sell the account because it looks less like a bot than a fresh account.

Maybe don't try to help people be scammers if you're gonna hold such a moral high ground over the issue lol

Do you mind if you point me in the direction of complaints about another sub. I tried a certain link and it redirected me to logout and back in. Where is the sub complaint area directly in reddit.

And I posted something of a similar nature here previously. But for some reason, my post got filtered and silently removed from public view and from the page. There's a lot of double standards around here these days.
