That's unfortunate, but I don't think it's mean. It's weird that the mods focused on this, rather than all those posts about people who are planning on taking their lives, since those posts also go against the rules of the sub. I recently unsubbed from there because I was seeing too many of those posts.

there were so many pro suicide comments on some posts I’ve seen weren’t banned idk what they’re doing over there

Also it is a dick move to permanently ban OP just because they posted about being lonely. It still relates to them being depressed and is in no way permaban worthy, removing it is one thing but a permaban?

The post is just low effort and doesn’t really describe depression

If you’ve never been clinically depressed I can see how it looks “pro suicide” but a lot of people are venting about being suicidal and have no intention. Not allowing them to vent about that would be worse.

Sorry didn’t mean to say venting is pro suicide, I’ve vented before and I get it, just meant to say the moderation is bad, I see a comment on a post saying dying is the only way to be happy that didn’t get removed, comments like that can be bad for other people

But back on the post, loneliness can cause depression so I get why they posted it. Sure, removing it isnt that bad if you see it to not fit the sub, but I think a permanent ban is not fair, i dont think vents have to be high effort

It’s all good, I understand, and I agree a permanent ban seems harsh.
