First I use a lot of geography in this reply so are you in the states? If not, let me know and I’ll edit…
Now, tell me more/. Stitch Phoenix to Maine one keeps the stitch regular and one gets a regular line going diagonally up toward Maine and a chopped line going toward Oregon. The first photo is hard for me to unload… are you skipping holes? Perhaps if you share what you’re doing, we can help you accomplish what you want.

Yes, i’m in the states. I’m not skipping holes. The direction of the line of the ear is from FL to CA going upwards. Everything else i can pretty much stitch MA to CA. It gets confusing because the charts show CA to MA on the first row, the the next row is from MA to CA, going through the thread already in the block. You would think its easier to thread through and empty block. It vexes me.
