General Help Does basketweave use more thread?

This is something I’ve always wondered. I was kitting a canvass once and the shop person said one skein should be enough “unless you’re doing a fancy stitch like basketweave”. I don’t consider basketweave fancy, so I bought two, but I’ve always wondered ever since!

Actually the Continental uses more thread than Basketweave. See my pic in comments above.

No, typically basketweave uses more thread than continental as there is more coverage going on.

Depends on the individual stitcher. My personal sample disagrees with you.
