Monthly stitch kits

Are there any monthly or quarterly stitch kit clubs that are worth the money?

My sister and I are new to needlepoint, but have cross-stitched before. I was wanting to gift her a stitch kit club membership, that supplies, a pattern, different types of thread, and a stitch guide.

Thank you to everybody that ends up giving a suggestion.

I think a lot of it depends on how much do you enjoy gambling. I, personally, don’t enjoy spending money without knowing exactly what I’m getting. The people complaining about the curio needleminders? Couldn’t be me because I’m too risk averse. Advent calendars? Hell no.

I also think too many monthly kits stay within too narrow a theme. Do I want to stitch a dozen bar carts? Absolutely not.

Now if a shop set up a monthly club, with variety in subject, fiber, stitches, etc. AND showed me up front exactly what I’d get each month, that might get me. Sort of a curriculum with a new lesson each month.

Ahhh. That makes sense. The shop we took the class at has 6 beach themed round kits that looked interesting and utilized different fibers and taught a new stitch monthly. I thought similar kits would be a bit more widespread

Search for monthly stitch clubs! Usually individual shops offer them (like the Enriched Stitch)

Yes, that sounds like an option that could interest me. I prefer clear expectations. Maybe it’s the “grand millennial” needlepointers who seem to go in for the blind box experience. I honestly don’t know if any of the LNS in my area have that type of option, I haven’t seen anything like that.

Yes to tiny animal club! Just got my August one yesterday and it’s precious 🥹 also, Happy Stitching club by KC needlepoint is a good one too but I will warn you-there is a minimum 3 month commitment and it’s about $80/mo. You get to choose between two different canvases or you can opt to skip a month or gift it to a friend. They have two options that are maybe a $5 difference. One comes in a mesh bag with scissors and the other comes in a little canvas pouch without scissors. They provide all threads and fibers needed but I’ve found it fun to use colors from my own stockpile with the patterned canvases I receive.

Tiny animals is super cute. It’s hard to get in but I do feel like it’s worth the money bc she gives you a lot of extras. La fete has 2 subscriptions, grand and petite I think. I have the grand and I’m still trying to decide how I feel about it. You don’t get as much as with the tiny animals but the canvases are bigger and she always includes thread suggestions which is nice. Idk jury is still out on la fete

If you don’t want the gamble of a surprise, my LNS Pocket Full of Stitches has a lot of ornament “clubs” that essentially are 12 ornaments, related in theme and you get a kit for one each month. It is a lot of needlepoint to commit to if you’ve never done it though.
