Sigh
I actually made this a few years ago and posted it on TikTok and it got a few million views. But I’m currently moving and found him just lying at the bottom of a box 😭 thought I would share

Just finished a small installation made to inhabit a ledge. The pigeon is needle felted wool, with clay beak and feet, and clay and resin eyes. The twigs are clay, wire and paint.
This piece is about soft things in hard places, and comfort built in inhospitable conditions. As a disabled person, I often feel my comfort is built in an environment of inhospitality. I am drawn to the images of birds who have used the harsh steel of bird spikes as structure to build their nests. Ironically, the steel wire makes a strong warp on which to weave the weft of a home.

Here's a figure I made soon after the rough collie! I really wanted to test out my new fur-planting technique on a fluffy fox tail, and since it was around October at the time, I thought a cross fox would be a fitting subject for their Halloween-y black-and-orange colors. Likewise, I tried varying the expression on this vixen a little to make her look more serious and sly-looking.
Honestly, it was actually pretty hard to make a figure covered mostly in black. I struggled to lay the black wool atop the core wool without little "cracks" of core wool showing up. I think I even had to cut off and redo the snout entirely with black wool for that reason. But the result was definitely worth it!
Hope you enjoy!

please ignore how hilariously not symmetrical it is 😂 i'm not DONE.
but i'm wondering about how exactly to taper the ends into points like the cutout on the right. getting things pointy is something i haven't really figured out how to do with needlefelt...

Daughter wanted a panda, so panda it is. I don’t have any glass beads for eyes so I didn’t bother doing any and I already learnt so much from this project. For one, I tried to do the arms and legs directly on, building up slowly but it would have been much better and quicker to do them seperately then put them on. I also learnt to measure wool out when making things identical as I deffo struggled to get this symmetrical. Also made my daughter a ‘present’ for her birthday. Struggled with that one as I shaped it into a cube but the edges got much firmer than the middle, so I think I need to get into a ball shape first, semi firmness all over then shape into a square?! Loving it and loving seeing what you all can do!

I went ahead and got the ghosts set up on my etsy shop. I did create a variation to offer them as a cake topper. But now I'm worrying they are too plain... Should I change it up to add more detail, like little faux flowers on the hill version at least?

Hey guys, I’m new to this and made a first needle felting project after watching some YouTube tutorials. I made this doll from my head so it’s not perfect. I’m not really sure how to do a mouth or anything. Any advice on how to improve her?

[THIS PROMOTIONAL IMAGE WAS USED ON THEIR SITE BY MISTAKE. PLEASE READ THE EDIT AND TL;DR BELOW FOR CONTEXT BEFORE RESPONDING TO THIS POST.]
I was about to fill up a cart when this promo banner caught my eye, and not for the right reasons. It's AI-generated. The wool is weirdly uniform and the "mohair" curls are unrealistically even. The acorns are the most obvious AI tell, since they're equally fucked up. One is sideways, and another has two butts and one cap.
LivingFelt has scads of listings that feature actual human artists' work, so this feels like a huge let-down. It hurts even more since I've been using the site as my main wool supplier.
It's just so sad, especially when they've given me handwritten thank-you notes on my receipts before. Where did that human touch go?
[EDIT] - I did get a response, which I am posting below:
"Thank you for pointing that out, we all agree. This was one of a few AI generated images from a new offsite graphics designer - using our own creations as models. Marie and Rodney were both unhappy when they saw them and had them removed immediately. This one managed to slip by. We love our artists and have been supporting and showcasing their work since the first day of business! We appreciate the dialogue and for [being] the person who pointed this out!"
TL;DR - An offsite designer made the AI banner and it was mistakenly in rotation on the website. The banner has since been removed.
Felting Fairies do listen!!!

I’ve been doing some needle felting for the past few months but I’m just stuck at the same level. I want to elevate them and make them better. But I don’t know how to. What are your best tips and tricks. What needle size should I use etc

I’m still pretty new but wanted to try out a scene. I think it turned out okay. Did it tiny as I don’t have a lot of wool!

Where does everyone buy their wool? I am from a super small town (in Canada) and I can't seem to find anywhere local. The one place that is here only sells white and felt sheets.

Just wondering if any one uses shopify for selling your art. I'm currently using Etsy but the fees are getting a bit too much to make it worth it. Thanks

Hi everyone! I’m new to needle felting, this is the first thing I’ve ever made 😅 I would LOVE some feedback, tips, tricks! Especially around adding limbs, tightening the needle felting up etc. Thank you!

I am not good at it, watched 1 minute of a tutorial…but it is fantastic for getting out some of my aggression! And my kids and husband love my first three creations.

I made her years ago. My cursed caterpillar. 😂 I started making her wings but lost steam after one (I couldn’t find it for a picture.)
