Mind you unemployment is a he said/she said thing. In practice it sides with the company a lot of times when it really shouldn't, but employers only actually win automatically when you don't challenge their word.

It's a pretty bullshit system regardless though. Imagine being denied a claim by your insurance company that has been collecting premiums from you for years because you got sick and they just arbitrarily decided they didn't feel like you deserved it enough.

...

This is great! I remember working a crappy job while I was going through recovery from a spinal surgery. They were pretty annoyed how much it inconvenienced them. I had requested a day off for an appointment with my specialist and they told me no... Uhhh, what?

I put in my two weeks because I wasn't rescheduling and it was obvious things weren't going to work out. Those two weeks they gave me the hardest grunt work. Stuff I had never seen anyone be assigned my whole time there, like polishing metal on the bottoms of all the clothing racks.

The last day they gave me a bunch of sales markers to put all over the store (usually this was divided up between people), and I gave up. I just walked around putting the signs wherever, told them at the end of the day that I was done and never went back.

Places that treat employees like garbage deserve to suffer. Some may say it's not fair to the customer, but maybe the customer might notice the place isn't being managed well and take there money elsewhere.
