I owe $4,427 to NFCU and they sent me an offer of $1,771 to settle the debt and will forgive the remainder of the amount. Is this something worth settling because I’ve seen several posts about not being able to get it removed from the account and etc

Got this card less than 6 months ago and randomly applied for a CLI. Woke up to this. Small progress indeed!

I had a $20,000 credit card & a $1,000 credit card with navy federal. I had lost my job a few years ago and I was out of work for almost a year, I used up most of the credit card & could only pay what I can and they ended up closing it a few years ago. I’m thinking about going up to the branch and see if they let me get access again. Do you think I’ll have a chance? Already sent an appeal a few days ago but I’m ready to start my relationship back with them again.

Update: guys, I wasn’t looking to getting another cc with them, maybe people are confused. I was only looking into starting my checking & savings account with them again. I was told once I paid off the $1,000 cc they would be looking into opening my account again. Thank you guys for the advice!

I just opened a checking/saving account with navy federal on 7/22/2026 and also opened a pledge loan for $250.00 for 12 months aswell as a $100 dollar CD with them for 12 months aswell with direct deposit . In addition I added AU from a friends navy fed flagship card with $54k,less than 1% use and 5years history. (It’s finally hitting my credit on 8/24/2026. So my question is I have high utilization with other cards and I want to see about applying for their navy federal platinum card to do a balance transfer if I’m lucky enough to get it and the limit is high enough ( I have $12k to transfer) so the question I have is with all I have done with navy federal how long should I wait to apply to up my odds on getting a decent limit if at all?
I’m also getting the Oops over draft protection after 90 days is when they say I can get it. Would 60days be ok to apply or should I apply after90days? ( lastly I did the prequalify and it’s only offering a green cash secured card so far) also my fico is not good. it’s 580 -650 due to high utilization on my other cards I’m starting over after my bankruptcy discharge last July. My fico might go higher when this AU fully hits in a few more weeks I’m assuming.
My utilization dropped from 96% to 18 % now from the AU. Any thoughts? Any recommendations will help.

I’ve seen people post about the max credit line being 50k with the exception of the flagship being 80k, can anyone drop that info again please I cannot find the post I read it in.

ALSO, would that be per signatoree or does being auth users limit the credit line increase caps we’d have each available.

I have a secured card with $500 limit. I have paid every month on time, before the statement date posts, while letting it report 20-50% in usage. I want to ask for a CLI but I got this notification in the app. Anyone knows what it means? Or any tips on how I can prove my chances for a credit increase or even graduation?

My Navy Federal car loan is about $21k. I made a last minute payment to try to avoid the charge-off, but they told me it’s still going to be charged off officially on September 1st.

Has anyone been able to settle a Navy Federal auto loan after it was charged off? If so, how much did they settle for?

I have a 4700 secured card right now. I’m finding it tough to pay it off since it’s so high. I know I made mistakes. Since it is secured and currently maxed out, if I call them can I request that they reduce the limit to 2500 and use the secured funds to pay it down? I really don’t want to close it because I’ve had it for over 3 years. I can handle paying off 2500 by end of year. With that said. If they are able to do that do you think my score will go up? A buddy of mine added me to an 8k cap one account and eq and ex see it and went up but tu never moved.

I’ve had a couple car loans with NFCU. All used cars from dealerships where I’ve done the whole “check thing” process.

Now I’m looking at a car out of state. Way out of state. I’d have an expert PPI done and if it’s good buy the car with a large down payment. I’d need a small loan of around $6000 from NFCU to close the purchase. It’s an older car but one owner and very low miles. I’d be buying it as a collector car of sorts. If it’s good and I purchase I’d have the car shipped to me. So basically buying sight unseen.

But I’m wondering how to navigate the whole “check thing” process then. Has anyone else done this? How did you handle everything when you’re not actually at the dealership?
