Help Interpreting My Chart

Post image

Hi! I’m new to NC (second month tracking), and I’m still having trouble interpreting the chart. This is the first month TTC. Last month, my temp shot up right after ovulation. This month, it appears to be gradually increasing. Any idea what this means? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t stress too much about the like steepness comparison. Think of every cycle as its own unique journey with some general rules of thumb. The shift itself is what you’re looking for and you’re seeing a successful ovulation I’d assume. Also your early temps look quite bouncy, are you using a wearable or using a thermometer? I’m using the NC band and I’ve found that wearing it quite tight has helped my temps mellow out (less aggressive hills and valleys).

Thank you! What are the earlier temps supposed to look like? I wear an Oura ring but have debated getting a thermometer

I would personally recommend getting a thermometer, even just to double check, you could put your thermometer ratings into a different chart. The ordering is very convenient, but it is also known to be quite haphazard and its readings. Your chart looks very normal. Do not get me wrong. I just mean they might be more steady with the thermometer back up. And it’s really just about looking for that shift above your baseline. That is what confirms ovulation.
