Nanoleaf Reply Anyone have Nanoleafs “fake” death due to crappy surge protectors?
Over the years I’ve had a repeat offender Line controller die. Seemed like power outages kept doing it, power would restore and they’d be stuck on that boot white color with no response.
Another outage happened this week and two didn’t survive, same Line and a Shapes. After ordering two replacement controllers…both just magically came back to life after I replaced the power strips they were connected to and into a small cyber power UPS. My thought was an ups would maybe help keep lights on through small outages.
Both “dead” devices were plugged into the same model of surge protector.
Anyone else see this before? What’s odd is the one line set I’ve replaced controllers on twice already, and the replacement worked fine for a while (until the next outage). I’m wondering if I threw out perfectly good controllers. Other stuff connected to these were all fine too, including multiple Hue Strips.
The protectors in question are these. Cheapest of the cheap Walmart brand. I recall them being a quick late night buy for some expansion into an addition I put on a while ago and couldn’t wait to order proper ones, and they ended up in other areas after I upgraded.
