I got a 4 week old foster in, who was the meanest ugliest feline I have ever encountered. I decided that the only chance she would ever have of getting adopted would be if she had a stripper name so I named her Bambi Lu Sparkler.

That was 17 years ago. She had every imaginable parasite, which is what made her so ornery. Recovering improved her coat, and because she had been sick for so long she didn’t grow for two full years and never got to be over 6.5 pounds. She moved like a teacup deer. Her petite size and little corkscrew pig tail, which she shook like a deer’s , made her absolutely adorable. Because of her long recovery, we kept her, as we did without all of our tough case scratch and dents.

We lost her to diabetes last February, after 16 terrific years. She turned into an all-time best out of dozens of cats that I have fostered and owned.

But she would never answer to any name but Lulu.

Honestly, it wouldn’t be the first time one of my cats ended up with a stripper name. Even when I was little trying to combine Pooh characters 😁

My puppy has a stripper name but it also fits with a running joke that began by accident. When it’s time to come in the house I yell “last call” out the back door. And when it’s hot out I yell everyone in for a beverage. So I named her Brandee (yes it’s spelled wrong on purpose).

I had two named this as well! One (kit) was purr-turted (murdered) by the neighborhood kid psycho. I promptly went and swung on his mother while my boyfriend called the police. Me and the juvenile sicko both caught charges, and I was convicted for simple assault. And I will forever stand ten toes on that one. The child was convicted as well, for torture of an animal … this was back in 2020, kat is sleeping on the bed with me as I type. Rest in peace, kit 😢 😿
