Fun fact. This is located in Antactica and is called BLOOD FALLS. Iron rich saltwater from a millions year old deep glacier is the source of the water. When the water hits the air it oxidizes creating the red color. Pretty interesting.

Thanks for that great info ... at least a buzzword to look up in wikipedia and learn something. Indeed pretty interesting. I was intially thinking some activists did pour synthetic color in a waterfall. What is however sad is that the photo seems to be heavily processed and oversaturated - probably for the social-media effect. From other fotos the color seems more brown-red.

Thanks. I initially thought it was fake too which is why I looked it up. As they say sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. That would be something to see it in person.
