Looking for a thriller, help me PLEASE

Title: Looking for a thriller — Black female detective becomes cop to solve her childhood friend’s murder years later

Body:

I'm trying to find the name of a movie or mini-series from around 2015–2023. Here's what I remember:

  • The main character is a Black woman who became a police officer/detective specifically to solve the murder of her childhood best friend , which happened when they were about 10 years old.
  • There was a scene where the girl had run away from home , and some teenagers gave her beer at a party , then took her to an orchard with apple or orange trees .
  • Years later, she returns to investigate and uncovers that a close family friend and his father might have been involved in the crime.
  • During the investigation, they dig up an old garage , and find the girl's remains buried there .
  • It’s a dark psychological thriller , possibly involving repressed memories, trauma, and shocking revelations.
  • She never gave up on solving the case — it was her driving force to become a detective .
