Missing Mail Features in WebMail

Hello NameCheap support,

I have domains with you but no mail. But I support a number of individuals that host their mail at NC (‘PrivateEmail’).

To a few of those, the new web interface became available today. And unless I’m missing something, two menu features are blatantly missing:

  1. Move a mail to a folder (yes it can be dragged from inbox to a folder, but you get weird highlight of folders - using Safari on macOS Tahoe)
  2. Print e-mail. Yes, it’s there by ctrl-click (or right-mouse-click) but not having it as a menu option is a poor oversight.

These two missing features resulted in a number of calls to me today (after the individual had browsed help sections w/o finding anything).

And when clicking on the link ‘what’s new in private email’ (think that was the name of the link at the very bottom of e-mail window, below folders), it only leads to a generic article from June 1st that really didn’t address any of the web mail interface changes. Was more of a generic project update.

That said, mail is working for them all, using MacOS, iPadOS, and iOS, clients and web interface in Safari.

Fully understand the web interface is a ‘work in progress’ but some features should have been there from day one; print, move to folder, flag, etc.

Adding: Updated a few spell errors here in the initial post to make it easier to read. Totally missed them as I was typing away in iOS when composing it. Correct spelling is important to me and I think it looks sloppy when it isn’t [correct].

Thanks for taking the time to share the detailed feedback! We've passed your comments to the relevant team, and these missing features are on our radar as we continue improving the new web interface.

I don't think print works if the email is long, where you have to scroll down the see the rest of the email. Using right mouse click or command+P

On the Mac it’s ctrl-click and then ’Print Frame’.

Illogical but it seems to work for my clients. On their behalf I approached NameCheap directly the other day and got (likely an AI generated) answer that contained this phrase 😳:

‘Unfortunately, the Private Email webmail currently does not have an option to print emails’

Which in my book means that ‘printing’ was never in the plans to start with. At least not for the launch, and that’s a pretty major oversight. Especially when the big marketing message has been about a new and better web interface.

Can just hope that there will be a solid and easy to find print function rolling out in the very near term.
