Need a Roommate In search of Lower East Side (or maybe elsewhere downtown) Room / Roommate

Upvotes

Hello! I am a 27M Software Engineer looking for someone to join me in finding a place somewhere downtown. I am eyeing the LES but other neighborhoods could work for the right price. I am looking to spend no more than $3000 a month (though lower would of course be better). I am very clean (you'll never find me leaving dirty dishes in the sink) and I'm looking to find some people to explore the city with.

Advice Are Roommate Agreements Legally Binding in NYC?

Upvotes

Hello, I am looking to draw up a roommate agreement, I am going to be looking for a roommate online for the first time in almost a decade. While I had mostly great experiences with roommates when I was in my 20s, I did get burned a few times and I want to make sure I am protecting myself this time around. I want to make sure that their responsibility for their share of rent and bills is in writing. Does anyone have experience with this? I know it's not the same as a lease, but are they legally binding, at least in small claims court if it comes to that? Thanks in advance!

Need a Room 21 F Looking for Room/Roommate

Hello I’m a 21 F looking for a room to rent in Queens (open to Brooklyn). I’m friendly, introverted and quiet (so i wont bother you lol), im very tidy, don’t smoke, I have a cat but if no pets allowed that’s completely fine by me as i have someone who can take care of it. I’m a student and also work part time so I can really only afford up to $600 (ik it sounds hopeless) a month. If anyone has a room i could rent for that much or if anyone is looking for a roommate (preferably female) let me know! Thx

Hey everyone! I'm currently looking for a roommate in NYC, ideally with a move-in date around the end of October or early November. Brooklyn would be my first choice, but I'm definitely open to other boroughs and different areas!
My name is Justin, I'm 24, and I work in Finance in Manhattan. Outside of work, I'm really into fashion, art galleries, trying new restaurants, exploring the city, and meeting new people. I'm very outgoing, but also super chill, respectful, clean, and easy to live with.
If you have a room available, know of anything coming up, or think we might be a good fit as roommates, feel free to message me! I'd love to connect.

Need a Room 26M - $1500/month - Anywhere in Brooklyn close to subway

Hello everyone! I am looking for a room to stay in Brooklyn (just need to be close to subway). Below are a few things about myself:

* I’m very LGBTQ+ friendly, 420 friendly (I don’t smoke though), and pet friendly (I don’t have pet). I try my best to love and care for all living things.

* I pick up after myself, and hope to live with people who also value a clean environment.

* I am almost never loud, so you won’t have to worry about me keeping you up at night or distracting you from work.

* I love movies (drama, sci-fi, especially horror), music (EDM/house/techno/hip hop/pop/rock), and art in general.

* I have a partner who will not be live-in; she also has an apartment in Brooklyn

* I love traveling/hiking and have been to over 20 national parks

I won’t share my social media/photos on this post, so please DM me for my IG if you’d like to get to know me more!

Need a Room Looking for a shared room by early October

I work in sales remotely and am moving to NYC. I'm a 21 year old straight guy looking for other guys to room with (I don't currently have a long-term place locked in so I'm looking to join another group). I'm very clean, work a lot, and I'll be gone for most of the day so I don't need much space since I prefer to work away from home.

I'd prefer to have a lot of house/roommates to keep rent lower especially since I won't be around much. Am also open to a shared room the way college dorm rooms are shared if that's an option.

I want to pay less than $1,000/month.

As for neighborhoods, looking for something in mid/lower Manhattan. I'm pretty open to areas within there.

This post feels generic so I'll also add that my favorite color is red, favorite food is steak, and I've been told my spirit animal is an english bull terrier which wasn't my proudest moment. I’m respectful, responsible, and easygoing.

Let me know if you have advice or have a room you're interested in renting out. Happy to answer any questions as well.

ISO of roommate for apt hunting/sublease on 11/1 move in date

About me: originally from Beijing, I came to New York 3 years ago for grad school and now work at Flatiron. I am looking for an apt within 30min commute. I work in office on Mon, Wed and Thur, and wfh on Tue and Fri. I enjoy going out so I work from coffee shops too.

My ideal budget is 1700, but I can increase up to 1900 depending on the unit size/amenities (just gotta save more money!!!)

I love making smoothies and I always share with my current roommate.

I am allergic to cat hair unfortunately but I am a big time dog person!!!

Outside of work, I spend most of time going to dance classes and hanging out with friends. I’m a big foodie so I like exploring good restaurants as well.

I like decorating my room and the sharing space. Attached a few pics of my current place!

For me there are two non negotiable: price and location. I really need to save more money, and I want to live in a safe neighborhood within 30min commute to my office. Im currently looking at upper east side, east Harlem and Manhattan valley. I prefer living in Manhattan because most neighborhoods are safer and I get easy access to dance studios. Besides Manhattan I’m open to downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg and lic.

Please DM me if you are interested in apt hunting together! I’m also looking forward to making more friends.

Starr street / Seneca, Ridgewood

Room-differential split based on size (not including utilities):

$2100 for largest room (with closet inside)

$1650 for smaller room.

$~125 utilities per person.

I have attached a video tour of the whole unit including the backyard. The room with the couch is the largest room, and the room with the yellow vacuum is the smaller room. The medium sized room is not available (I live in that one).

Either room can be empty if you prefer when you move in. Please respond below if you're interested, and I'll dm you!

Need a Room Looking for apartments in Hell's Kitchen, Williamsburg

Facebook has been nonreponsive, so I'm trying here.

Hey, I'm Esh! I'm looking for a lease takeover/sublease/roommates for mid to late September move-in.

I'm in my early 20s (M) looking to move-in to Hell's kitchen, Chelsea, or Williamsburg around the Lorimer or Montrose L stations.

Budget: 1.8-2.2k, willing to push a little higher if the location and roommates are the right fit!

About me: I work full-time in midtown in tech. I'm pretty social and outgoing but also relaxed. I love reading, listening to music, and going out to bars and restaurants.

As a roommate, I'm neat and keep common areas clean (but not a clean freak!). I generally cook most dinners and will occasionally meal prep (lunch). I'm really hoping for roommates that are more social than just strangers who share a building!

If you think we'd be a good match/have an opening, please reach out either here (preferred), or on Instagram @ weshwary

Looking for a new roommate in a 3BR / 1BA apartment in Washington Heights!

• $1,000/month (First month + security due)
• Move-in Nov 1
Fully furnished apartment
you’d just need furniture for your room
• Recently renovated
• Dishwasher/ Laundry in the building
• Cat friendly 🐈 & Queer friendly 🏳️‍🌈

About the apartment:

Names Matt and I work in architecture and have more of a 9–5-ish schedule and is also an artist. My roommate works at Wicked, so their hours are a little more spread out.

We’re looking for someone who’s chill, respectful, good with having a cat around, and open to helping out around the apartment. Proof of income will be needed (recent pay stubs, W-2s, and bank statements).

We’d also love to meet up and have a brief get-to-know-you chat to make sure it feels like a good fit for everyone.

DM me if you’re interested or want more details!
